City Lights Bookstore

Am I in heaven or what?

  1. San Francisco is certainly a book reading city. We've seen fourteen bookstores, none of them chains.

My favorites are City Lights and Green Apple.

I'd certainly love it if we had more Texas bookstores!

  2. I am very jealous. I have a few Ferlinghetti books (and of course, Ginsberg too) and just read a collection of poetry from the company.

  3. I hate to enflame your jealousy, but there is a big room upstairs that is devoted just to poetry. It was wonderful.

  4. You're not in heaven. You're just another gullible American. City Lights bans books and periodicals in case you're unaware. Think of all the poets it keeps out of its upstairs room! Think... or just call me jealous, or some other epithet. See my website for more info.
