  1. Some great books in this list. I'm especially fond of Great Expectations and A Good Man is Hard to Find.

  2. I say start with Little Women. It was one of my favorite books growing up.

  3. Thank you for the suggestions. It is hard to know where to start when you have so many good books on hand.

  4. Oooh, a nice selection there. Vasilly is probably right, start with Little Women or maybe even Lucky Jim. Compared to some of the other books you have like by Hemingway and Steinbeck, it seems a little lighter.

  5. Great selection to choose from! I wouldn't know where to start either. I'm just as confused with my choices for the coming year, so I'm having a friend come over and pick something off my 2009 list for me to start with.

  6. After you read Little Women, you must read MARCH by Geraldine Brooks. It is Little Women from the p.o.v. of the father!

  7. I see Hemingway here! Good luck with him. I can't read his books!

    Start with Gulliver's Travels..

  8. I think you're off to a good start with The Elegance of the Hedgehog. A customer recently recommended it to me and I've seen it on a couple of Top Ten lists for 2008. I bought a copy and hope to get to it in January.
