Sigh.
I'm still reading War and Peace.

Take a look at this view of it and
you'll see why I'm still reading it:

Sigh.

How about you?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! D This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! 1. Oh no, War & Peace! Isn't that a bit much? Shouldn't you tackle it a few chapters at a time and read something lighter in between? Good luck with the book!

I've read 5 books this week.

  3. Good luck with that. Although, I agree with Leeswammes in that you might enjoy it more if you read it in parts and had something light to break it up a little.

  5. I have War and Peace on my shelf, too. Mine is a little thinner but the pages are that thin, light is alomst shining through them. Good luck with it! I will keep looking at it standing on the shelf a little more. :)

    My Monday post is here.

  13. I can't believe how blithely I read those long books, back in the day (War and Peace, etc.). Even Gone with the Wind was one I read and reread, and it's not a small book!

    Enjoy your week.

  18. I started reading War and Peace back in January, leeswammes. I've tried setting it down and picking it back up; not so easy with the enormous cast of characters and complicated plot. Now I'm trying to read it without breaks and that isn't working either!

  19. I hope I didn't put you off reading it, Sabrina!

  20. Helen, I have great persistence. That is all that is keeping me reading War and Peace...persistence.

  21. I wish I had read War and Peace back in the days when I read enormous books blithely, Laurel Rain-Snow. Would I have read War and Peace blithely?

  22. I have not had the courage to try and read War and Peace. Good luck to you in getting it finished. I hope you are enjoying it.

  23. I am sad to say that I am not enjoying it, Mari.

  24. Wow! War & Peace...I'm hoping it goes better for you than my own attempts to read it. It's definitely a classic and one I think should be studied, but I'm not sure I'd have the courage to read it "for fun". Good luck!

And wahoo! I absolutely adored Dash & Lilly, wonderful book!

  25. I just bought it. Have never read anything Russian. I'm sure I won't get to it this year though.

  26. It doesn't look like I will finish it this year either, Carin.

  27. I'm reading the Indian Kiler... and "teacher-y" books as I lesson plan.

  30. I don't think I'd be able to finish War and Peace. That's pretty intimidating.

  31. Aw, that's a shame that you aren't enjoying it. I haven't tried it but I loved Anna Karenina.

  32. Wow. That's how I felt when I bought Les Miserables. I still haven't started it yet. I'm trying to come up with a system for reading it without having dead time when I'm reading other things.

  33. I broke Shantaram into sections and read it and loved it. It was almost 1000 pages too.
