  1. Okay, this was fun AND insulting! I read 8% slower than the national average but got all the questions right.

  2. Impossible. I'm quite certain that, to paraphrase the amazing Garrison Keillor, "this is the Book Blogosphere, where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and we are all above average readers!"

  3. It's tricky, trying to read a passage that has no context.

  4. Try it a second time. That's probably a better indicator of your true reading speed.

  5. I was 27% faster than the average. However I don't think that was a good test. I don't know. I don't feel like a fast reader at all...

  8. This was fun. My results were:

You read 449 words per minute.
That makes you 80% faster than the national average.

  9. I always have to remind myself:

“In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.”

  10. Fun! I scored just a hair above average for an adult reader, the second time I took the test. The first time I totally failed the comprehension questions, with 1 right out of 3.
