Last Week
Books and book-ish things poured into my mailbox and e-mail last week. Such are the lovely parts of celebrating one's birthday with book-ish family and friends.
Here's what arrived:
...along with two wonderful gift cards and a very-cool praying mantis puppet! Thank you, all!
Also...
I joined in for the Literary Blog Hop and gave away a copy of Lila by Marilynne Robinson from Book Depository to
I posted about rereading and vowed to do so more often.
I lamented the demise of my high school.
I shared photos from The Texas Book Festival in which I stayed in a Tiny House and met many authors.

How about you? What are you reading?
The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news and recap the past week.
Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at The Printed Page. We share books that we found in our mailboxes last week.
It is now being hosted here.
Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews in which you can share the books you've acquired.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from! I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme Book Journey loves to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme.
Thanks for the follow . . .I hope I heal soon too :-) Last time I fell I broke my arm :-(

They are fast reads...if I could just obtain the copies I need, I could probably read them all in a week.
DeleteWhat are the Cybils?
ReplyDeleteIs it an award, a list of favourites, all books that reference a Cybil??
Happy belated birthday too :-)
Cybils is short for "Children and Young Adult Bloggers' Literary Awards." Here's the link: http://www.cybils.com/
DeleteAnd thanks for the birthday wishes!
DeleteWow that's an impressive group - very organised & efficient. How long has it been active?
DeleteI always have to go check, but I started blogging in '08, and I was lucky enough to be chosen as a Cybils panelist the very first year. I think the Cybils were in existence one year before that, in '07.
DeleteThe Work book I bet is interesting. I would like to travel the world and try different jobs that are for the culture ;)
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
DeleteWhat a great week for you.
ReplyDeleteBrown Girl Dreaming is a book I have had my eye on.
Happy Belated Birthday!! Nice to have books for presents. :)
Thanks for stopping by my post earlier....you will love both those Chicago books.

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
Flirting with French looks right up my alley. I'll have to dust off my high school French. :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteDo it now, while you are young. That's one thing I took away from this book. Do it when you are young.
DeleteThat's a lot of reading! I had no idea Ken Robinson had a new book out. Have you read the new Anne Lamott yet? I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Happy reading!
