Week 1 November 2-8 - My Year in Nonfiction - Celebrate your year of nonfiction. What books have you read? What were your favorites? Have you had a favorite topic? Is there a topic you want to read about more? What are you hoping to get out of participating in Nonfiction November?
Hosted by Heather who blogs at Based on a True Story
Next week will be Week 2, Nonfiction Journeys. This week choose a book that reflects a journey for its author or for the reader or both. This can be a physical journey, an emotional, psychological or spiritual journey or a combination of these. Any nonfiction title that leaves its author/protagonist and/or reader in a different place at the end from the start point is good for this challenge. Week 2 will be hosted by Frances at volatilerune.blog.
What I Posted Last Week Here at Readerbuzz:
I began to list 3 Good Things every day during the pandemic. Now I've established a regular routine of writing down my 3 Good Things. Here are 3 Good Things from last week:
Good Thing #1:
Did we, from our library friends group,
ever have fun on Halloween night!
We gave away 585 books to kids!
Good Thing #2:
Our son and daughter-in-law sent me
for my birthday
this amazing poster-sized photo of us
on our vacation together
in Traverse City, Michigan.

Good Thing #3:
Texas, you did good.
Love wins over hate.

SO PROUD OF TEXAS!!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday, Deb. I hope the day was filled with the sweet smell of old books, the seductive rustle of pages turned, the beauty of the written word and the sheer enjoyment of a literate life.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your dad is doing much better. That is good news! Some interesting reading in your line-up! The Nerd Reich sounds especially intriguing. I will be interested to see what you think. Yeah, TX did good.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful to hear that your birthday was a success. Happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteI’m so happy to read that your Dad is improving and that you had a wonderful birthday! I love that your library friends gave away books for Halloween too! Have a great week.

ReplyDeleteI have added quite a few of your books to my list, Religion, Nerd, Small Stuff, Bookshop!
So glad you had a great birthday. Well done on giving away more than 500 books to kids! Happy to see you are reading The Butterfly Season, it's in my top 4 non-fiction reads this year.
ReplyDeleteLove does win over hate. I am proud of our voters getting out there and saying enough is enough. Glad your birthday was fun and full of great things. And your dad feeling better - fantastic!
ReplyDeleteEvery book you mentioned appeals to me.
I think I must get my hands on "The Butterfly Season." I am constantly in awe of your ability to read several books at a time and I love your one-word reviews.
ReplyDeleteThe Butterfly Season sounds good! Hope you've been having fun with the non-fiction reads.
ReplyDeleteSo much good news! I'm glad you had such a nice birthday, that your dad is improving, and that your gas leak will soon be fixed. Hooray! I'm also very impressed with your book giveaway at the library. You and your friends made a lot of children very happy, I'm sure. What a thoughtful and marvelous gift from your son and daughter-in-law. Great photo! And, Texas. Just wow. Actually, Texas and so many other states, Georgia for one. Truly amazing. I'm feeling very hopeful these days.
ReplyDeleteYay for Texas! Missouri did way better than expected, too. I'm shocked that I'll be represented in Congress by a Democrat. That book giveaway looks like a fun way to spend Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good birthday and that your dad is doing better.
