Books and an air fryer! I've already started reading the books, but even though I am excited to pieces about receiving this air fryer, I'm still a bit in the dark about how to use it.
All air fryer tips, recipes, and advice are warmly welcomed!

What I Posted Last Week Here at Readerbuzz:
Dear Santa

I began to list 3 Good Things every day during the pandemic. Now I've established a regular routine of writing down my 3 Good Things. Here are 3 Good Things from last week, all from our Holiday Movie Marathon:
Good Thing #1:
Oh, I'm glad we didn't miss what may be the
worst movie ever made,
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.
Good Thing #2:
First time we saw The Bishop's Wife.
Two thumbs up.
Good Thing #3:
We finished out our movie marathon
with our personal favorite,
It's a Wonderful Life.

Hi Deb, I’m having trouble with the linky so I left an odd looking entry. I’ve heard good things about the air fryer — my daughter and granddaughter use theirs a lot for all kinds of cooking. I don’t have enough counter space for another large appliance!
ReplyDeleteI think I fixed your problem with the linky. This air fryer fits in the cabinet. I don't like appliances on my counter. lol
DeleteSanta Claus Conquers the Martians - 😂😂😂 Maybe it will become a cult classic? I added Wreck to my TBR list. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSanta Claus Conquers the Martians was filmed in four days.
DeleteI’ve had a good Christmas week with two of the three children coming home for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
DeleteWe've been watching old movies in between naps! TBH we mainly use our air fryer for French fries and those are perfect!
ReplyDeleteWe bought an air fryer several months ago and are totally sold on it. We cook more and more with it. I am sure that once you get used to it you will use it often.
ReplyDeleteI had a good time watching the Netflix Christmas comedy, Man vs Baby, a hilarious film about a housesitter who has to take care of an abandoned baby, an eight-month-old, while sitting for a mega mansion apartment in London. It stars the British actor who is in the comedy films featuring Mr. Bean.
ReplyDeleteI love returning to the classic Christmas movies and the last two are both excellent. If you’re ready for an emotional story set at Christmas watch Goodbye, June on Netflix - Kate Winslet’s directorial debut. Have a wonderful holiday week Deb!
ReplyDeleteAh, we've loved our air fryer! Though I must admit it baffles me -- it's a good thing my wife does the cooking. Our favourite recipe was taco pie. I think it was this recipe we use!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good Christmas!
Taco Pie sounds wonderful. Thank you, Nicky!
DeleteI love It's a Wonderful Life and we watched that this year again. Some Christmas movies we skip for a bit but I always love this one.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think anyone else had ever seen Santa Claus Conquers the Martians! It's awesomely awful. And it makes me laugh. :D
ReplyDeleteI read the intro of The Book of Alchemy last week. I decided it wasn't right for me right now, but I really want to figure out a time when it will be.
ReplyDeleteHow to Be Your Own Therapist feels related to The Book of Alchemy. I've said for years that's what my journaling does for me, but it might be useful to have some guidance or structure.
Lovely, enjoy your gifts, and Merry Christmas week and Happy new Year!
ReplyDeleteI won't have time to do a post for this Sunday
Dear Deb, the book entitled "How to be your own therapist" is very intriguing! The air fryer looks lovely, I hope you enjoy all your gifts, dear friend! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with lots of love, peace, good health and joy!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty excited to start a new year of reading. Just wrapping up two books and I'll turn the page on 2025.

ReplyDeleteWe've been using our air fryer for a few years now and love it. Not only do we use it at home, but we depend on it a lot while traveling in the RV. I can "grill" hamburgers, chicken, salmon, steaks, etc without the inconvenience of firing up the grill. Especially helpful if it's raining and I don't want to grill outside. My favorite recipes are in America's Taste Kitchen cookbook for air fryers (link here. The fried chicken sandwich is in our dinner rotation at least twice a month! Pork tenderloin recipe is also good.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a copy of Theo of Golden today after reading several glowing reviews.
I've never had a grill, so it sounds great to know we can now easily grill indoors.
DeleteAt least your "Good Things" #2 and #3 are winners - two of my personal favorites actually. Air fryers are very useful, although I admit I seldom use mine, but that's because I just don't often do much cooking anymore.
ReplyDeleteI hope someday to be able to say that I don't do much cooking anymore.
DeleteI have a small kitchen appliance addiction and have multiple air fryers, instapots, crockpots including ones with 3 crockpots, etc. I even have electric egg cookers. and an electric popcorn popper.
ReplyDelete!
DeleteSomeone gave us their old air fryer, and I've used it a couple of times. It works is about all I can say at this point.
ReplyDeleteThe Santa/Martians movie is awful, but Plan 9 From Outer Space is the worst. No one I know has ever been able to sit through the whole thing, it's so bad.
Ha!
DeleteI've never had an air fryer, so unfortunately I can't help you there. I hope you have fun experimenting with it. I have never seen The Bishop's Wife, but I've been wanting to. Good to know you enjoyed it. Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so wanting an air fryer, but I have no room for it. It's very sad. As much as I'm addicted to Christmas movies, I've never seen The Bishop's Wife, though I have seen The Preacher's Wife. It was on my list to watch this year, but I never got to it. I did watch The Shop Around the Corner for the very first time.
ReplyDeleteStop what you're doing and bookmark the Queen of Air Frying right now: https://www.youtube.com/@empoweredcooks
ReplyDeleteWhen you get there, type "beginner" in the search box or "tips and tricks" or "easy".
I love mine and hope you have fun with yours!
Yes, I shall do so immediately! (salute)
DeleteThank you, Jinjer!
DeleteCongrats on the new air fryer! I love mine and use it more than my oven. It's A Wonderful Life is my favorite Christmas movie. I watched it again earlier this week. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt was a strange year for me, I usually watch many Christmas movies including one of my favorites The Bishop’s Wife, and this year, none. In fact, Christmas Day I found myself watching McClintock for some laughs.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful New Year!
Your holiday movie marathon sounds fun! Can't recall having seen The Bishop's Wife. Happy New Year to you, and lots of good reads.
ReplyDeleteOur Christmas movies were Die Hard and Die Hard 2 :)
ReplyDeleteThe air fryer isn’t really big enough for me to use in place of the oven (cause I’m feeding 5 adults) but I regularly use it for putting the flake back into supermarket croissants. Split them in half, & spread with a little butter, or you could add some ham/chicken etc & cheese, 6 minutes at 330F and they are perfect. My son uses it to cook chicken tenders for a snack almost daily though.
Wishing you a wonderful reading week, and a very happy New Year
Ack I put the wrong link in, so feel free to delete the first entry
DeleteIt wasn't until I read Grace & Henry's Holiday Movie Marathon that I discovered that Die Hard was a holiday movie. lol
DeleteI actually got an air fryer at my family's request more than a year ago, but I've never gotten into using it. I'll be watching for your tips! LOL We also watched It's a Wonderful Life yesterday (again), but I may need to go find Santa Conquers the Martians! Hahahaha Thanks for sharing, and enjoy the rest of the holidays!
ReplyDeleteThe Bishop's Wife is one of my absolute essentials! Sigh -- what a wonderful story and so beautifully acted. Your Christmas sounds just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love my air fryer! I mostly use it for heating leftovers and making chicken tenders.
ReplyDeleteWe love our air fryer. One tip? Don't try cookies in there..it doesn't always work.I found that out last night! Ha! I am sure there is a way to do it right but I just didn't!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I use parchment paper inside it, wrapped around the metal tray, to keep it from getting as messy as it could without the paper. It keeps me from having to scrub the inside as often as I would otherwise.
Also, do you watch Santa Conquers the Martians on it's own or with Mystery Science Theater 3000? We used to watch it every year with my husband but only with Mystery Science Theater 3000 roasting it the whole time. I don't know why we didn't watch it this year. I should suggest it to my husband tonight for movie night.
Our lower oven can be put into air fryer mode and we love it! Pre-heat even though they say you don't have to and lower the temp 25 degrees if it's not an air fryer recipe. Our chicken tenders are so much better cooked in there and any breaded recipe turn out better in there. We do breaded zucchini in there and they turn out really nice. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI bought an air fryer this year and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI also watched the Bishop's Wife and enjoyed it; I'd never seen it before.
ReplyDeleteAir Fryer--I really like mine and use it to roast (frozen) broccoli, french fries, other veggies, chickpeas, and even warming up (frozen) naan and falafel (love the Trader Joe's ones).
I hope you enjoy your air fryer ! I don't have one yet. I'm a newbie. I read Wreck and for some reason I liked her previous novel Sandwich a bit more. But that's just me. Never heard of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Hmm. Have a Happy New Year's.
