I am a disciplined reader. I make lists of books I want to read, I see what books I can find, and then I carefully plan out my reading.
I shall do things differently in December.
I've already met all my reading goals for the year. So why not read whatever brings me joy?
I also have a lot of brand-new Kindle books that I got for my birthday---The Collected Stories of Eudora Welty; Sweet Alchemy; Keep Going; The Gene; Eiffel's Tower; String Too Short to Be Saved; Around the World in 50 Years; Democracy Awakening; Prequel; A High Wind in Jamaica; Middlemarch; Penguin Book of Haiku; Barefoot in Paris; Farmer Boy; Little House on the Prairie; Saveur; The Ministry of the Future; Wherever You Go, There You Are; The Devil's Highway; Eat Post Like; Something Fresh; Paris Metro Tales; The Screwtape Letters.
No planning. No organization.
Reading-at-will.
Who knows where December will take me?
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.

Your list is overwhelming … so many books, so little time (1 month).
ReplyDeleteI like having a lot of books to choose from.
DeleteThe Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot was a good read.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful free-choice December of reading, Deb! A little holiday treat for yourself! Love it! Enjoy!

This sounds like a marvellous plan.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Enjoy your free-reading! I'm a list maker as well and it's always fun to take a step out of the usual. My reading was pretty slow this year so I'm using December to frantically catch up on my goals! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThree Holidays and a Wedding was fun. Screwtape Letters on audio was really good. My son and I listened about 14 years ago--he was in high school and we had some of the best conversations ever all because we were stuck in the car together several days. I highly recommend it if you like audios.
