Do you have books about birds that you love?
Please share them with me.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.
Ooh nice topic pick! I couldn't think of any themes that were springy among my books so it was a book cover kind of topic day! You'll be surprised to see so many light colored books among my collection! Lol.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Do you own all of those? It’s quite a bird library! I read the Amy Tan book recently and enjoyed it a lot.

George: Memoir of a Magpie was a wonderful read last year. A woman rescues a baby magpie after a storm. I really do want to get the Amy Tan.
ReplyDeletewow, great idea!
ReplyDeleteI loved a lot Life List: A Woman's Quest for the World's Most Amazing Birds, by Olivia Gentile
and Birdscapes: Birds in Our Imagination and Experience, by Jeremy Mynott
I just did spring colors this week but LOVE that you did birds! So spring-y, so cute! Hope you enjoy these :)
ReplyDeleteAnd a student recommended to me the documentary Every Little Thing - on hummingbirds. haven't watched it yet, just the trailer, sounds fabulous. On Kanopy through your library if they use it. Possibly on other platforms
ReplyDeleteDo you also enjoy bird watching, then? I think it’s such a peaceful hobby. Thanks for stopping by earlier.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea!! What a fun take on it. I love the movie The Big Year. We watch it every New Years Day. Lol.
ReplyDeleteOoh, nice take on the topic today! That cover for A World on the Wing is stunning 😍
ReplyDeleteI've read a couple of these! COVID gave me a birding bug. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post
ReplyDeletePlease read my post
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I love birds, they're so fascinating. Two have made a nest in our warehouse here at work, right above the rollup door. So, I can watch them being crazy pants all day long.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Great choice for this week's TTT, Deb. I really should check a couple of these out. I don't think I have read any books about birds, except Hoot, an MG book about a group of kids trying to save a field where Burrowing Owls live.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful covers on these books and they all look so interesting! My daughter and I love to look at a bird book my parents have at their house and then look at the birds at the bird feeder. Or we used to like it. My parents can't have the feeder up anymore because the bird seed costs a lot and because they have a bear who likes to come down and pull it over. Ha! At hour house we aren't supposed to put bird feeders up because of bears either. It draws them into town since we live on the edge of the town by the woods.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice! Birds are perfect for spring time.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy watching the birds, and seeing robins and such arrive in spring. Of course, mourning doves have decided to make our porch their choice of nesting area. A few years ago we had fun watching the babies playing on the front porch.

The Nature of Small Birds by Susie Finkbeiner was good.
ReplyDeleteThe last books I read about birds were the Thornton Burgess books like The Story of Sammy Jay and The Story of Mr. Mocker. It's probably about time I get a bit more up to date!
ReplyDeleteOh Darn. Now I have a whole bunch of new books I must read. Thanks for making my research on bird books easy for me!
ReplyDeleteThat Amy Tan book was amazing.
ReplyDeleteI have only read the last two books and have wanted to read the Amy Tan book for a while now. As for bird books, I do have many to recommend but here is something a little different - Matt Kracht's Field Guides to birds (and bees too)!! Irreverent and oh-so-funny... (not a children's book at all though)
ReplyDeleteI don't know very much about birds but I'm always so drawn to them! These look very interesting!
ReplyDeleteAs a birder, I am proud to say that I have read a few of these. Read Amy Tan's new book just a few months ago and loved it. Really enjoyed The Thing with Feathers about Noah Stryker's big year--he was guest speaker at the Ute Mt Birding festival a few years ago and he was delightful. Loved the book and movie of The Big Year--the Genius of Birds is on my list, but I haven't read it yet.
ReplyDeleteRobert McCluskey is one of my favorite childrens book authors, and Make Way for Ducklings is wonderful. I am visiting Boston in June and plan to visit the ducklings in the park!
