What is the Sunday Salon?
The Sunday Salon is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week. I hope you will take this great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.
What I Read Last Week:
Wherever You Go, There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn (Nonfiction)
By the Shores of Silver Lake by Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House #5)
The Summer War by Naomi Novik (Fantasy)
What I'm Reading Now:
The Brothers Karamozov by Fyodor Dostoevsky (Classic)
What Mad Universe by Frederic Brown (Science Fiction)
Grand Hotel by Vicki Baum (Classic)
The Remarkable Ordinary: How to Stop, Look, and Listen to Life
by Frederick Buechner (Spirituality)
I began to list 3 Good Things every day during the pandemic. Now I've established a regular routine of writing down my 3 Good Things. Here are 3 Good Things from last week:
Good Thing #1:
Masterpiece Theater: Bookish
is a delight.
Good Thing #2:
I will be going to the Texas
Library Association Conference
in March this year!
Good Thing #3:
We are staying in a cabin
in a vineyard in East Texas
this weekend.

I need to check out Bookish. Have a great weekend with the grandkids!
ReplyDeleteIf there is one thing better than reading (highly doubtful) it might be playing with kids and grandkids! The plot is probably very predictable, though!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to read Whereever You Go, There you Are for quite some time! I hope it's good!
ReplyDeleteI really need to get to The Summer War! Glad to see you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteStaying in a cabin anywhere with good weather sounds great. The temperatures here rarely go above 20°F which is too cold! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are away this weekend and enjoying your time away. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! We are hunkered down in our Arctic freeze!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend, Deb! We've watched Bookish too and liked it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely setting for a weekend away! I hope you have a wonderful time Deb.
ReplyDeleteHope the weather is good at the vineyard. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteDear Deb, staying in a cabin is always nice.
ReplyDeleteOff to add Bookish to my Too Watch list! I hope you're enjoying your time in East Texas and staying warm and cozy. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good trip to East Texas this weekend! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend! I cannot wait to set aside some time and watch Bookish. It looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed BOOKISH as well. Miss Scarlet was another PBS series that was a hit. I'd have to think hard about three good things; they would mainly center around not having to leave the house in the horrible weather. I did have a bad throwback feeling to COVID, so very glad we will have school again on Monday!
ReplyDeleteThe three good things make me happy!
DeleteA cabin in a vineyard sounds lovely! Bookish is on our list to watch soon -- I'm glad to know that you liked it.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your weekend is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI need to watch Bookish. I'll have to figure out how to get PBS on the Roku (preferably for free). Have a great weekend and week! :)
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed watching Bookish, too! I can also recommend Seven Dials (Netflix), which has a wonderful cast. Enjoy your time in the cabin at the vineyard. Sounds delightful!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fabulous weekend getaway!!
ReplyDeleteI am making a wishlist of new books for our little church library so I am adding the Buechner book you are reading right now. Many people tell me he is good. Adding Bookish to my watching list.
ReplyDeleteA cabin in a vineyard. Well, it doesn't get much better than that! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat's my "anonymous" comment there. That trips me up too many times!
DeleteThanks!
DeleteHave fun playing family games!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a wonderful time with your family. Lovely to spend time in a cabin in a vineyard. I would enjoy that.
ReplyDeleteSnap! I binged Bookish this past week too. I am not in a cabin in a vineyard however :) I hope you are enjoying basketball with your family
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful reading week
Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI hope the trip to East Texas is going well, is relaxing, and you're enjoying time (with family?)
ReplyDeleteI've been loving Bookish on Masterpiece. We watched ahead one episode. No spoilers!
ReplyDeleteBookish sounds wonderful! Thanks for mentioning it, I hadn't heard about it.
ReplyDeleteA cabin in a vineyard in East Texas sounds delightful! I hope you enjoyed your family time! We are now driving back home from Southern California after spending time with a bunch of family. I'm adding Bookish to my to be watched list! Have a great week, Deb!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good weekend. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the cabin.
ReplyDeleteI hope your time away is exactly what you need it to be! So exciting to attend the Library Association Conference, that will be a blast, too!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend getaway!!
ReplyDeleteMy in-laws are in east Texas and are having much colder weather than I am. I hope it warms up for you while you're there and that you have an amazing trip!
ReplyDeleteIt was soooo cold!
DeleteI don't think I can get Bookish with our (extremely minimal) cable subscription. I'll have to watch for it on DVD from the library. Or maybe it will be available on Kanopy through the library. It looks good! We just watched The Thursday Murder Club movie, except I thought it was a TV series, until I realized we were getting through the plot of the whole book in one episode.
ReplyDeleteOur Massachusetts Library Conference is in May. I missed last year's, so would like to go this year. Glad you're getting to go to yours!
The cabin sounds nice and relaxing! We'll be in a cruise ship cabin later this month on a Caribbean cruise, but with a big group, so not sure how relaxing it will be!
Bookish is on PBS. Hope you can watch it.
DeleteI am envious of your Caribbean cruise.
Bookish looks like a lot of fun. We have PBS Passport, so I hope to watch it soon. Currently, we're enjoying Starfleet Academy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting to go to your Library Conference! And I hope you're having a great time on your vacation/family time.
That cabin in the vineyard sounds lovely.
