Awesome list! I now have lots of books to add to my TBR! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe three musketeers... I really want to re-read this one. I loved it soooo much when I was a teen. I'm pretty sure I'd see even more in it now that I'm (supposed to be) a grown up. (Sorry for my weird english, by the way...)
ReplyDeleteI had trouble compiling my list too, but I have to say that The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake would be on my least favorites of 2010.
ReplyDeleteMajor Pettigrew's Last Stand and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks are on my list as well.
Love all the lists, but "brilliant books I'm not cool enough to appreciate" made me laugh the most.
ReplyDeleteOooh, someone else who read Logicomix?! I liked how the book changed through narratives and found all of that to be rather meta. *But* coming from a background with very little math (philosophy and practice) I don't think that I swooned as much as I should have. Bertrand's life was pretty interesting and I think that I'd like to read a biography of more depth in the future. Logicomix was a great primer though.

Impressive lists, do you set a reading goal for yourself or do you just go with the flow?
This is a great list. The Happiness Project looks really interesting.
ReplyDelete255 books? I guess I have finally met a more voracious reader than myself.
ReplyDeleteI like the list, especially the way you interpreted the instructions.
Demitria, I try to set goals, but I usually enjoy reading the books that are chosen randomly.
ReplyDeleteMidnight's Children would come under my "Brilliant Books I'm not Cool Enough to Appreciate" list!=)) Quite a variety you have there!

I have so much trouble coming up with these lists when I read just 50 books, so how you can do it by reading 255 astonishes me. Congrats! It's great to see that you've read so many that you enjoyed.
ReplyDelete200+ books is very impressive! I've been "meaning to read" the Three Musketeers for far too long.
ReplyDeletelol love all the lists. I don't think I've read most of these besides the childrens books. I'll have to look into some of them.
ReplyDelete255 books is an amazing number!
ReplyDeleteLove how you broke it down to include other books as well, it's so hard to choose 10 reads really, especially when you read so many books a year
Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteMidnight's Children was such a fantastic read. I need to read more Rushdie. Love your mini-lists.
255 is a HUGE number of books! Congrats!
I like the lists on the various blogs as it can then tell me what I have missed!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Selected Works of TS Spivet. I listened to an author interview of NPR and the book sounded so intriguing!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read "The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake". I read so great reviews about it. I also loved "The Three Musketeers" too!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome list that gives me lots of great reading ideas. I really want to read Three Musketeers.
ReplyDeleteAwesome lists! I've read a flat 200 so far and had a hard time limiting it to ten. I wound up adding some honorable mentions. Here's mine: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2010/12/top-ten-tuesday-best-of-2010.html
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a whole lot of lists!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Sarah's Key was much overrated. I thought it had a lot of potential at the beginning, but was far too predictable. And a little weird.
I am envious of the way you read, I want to read The Happiness Project badly..
ReplyDeleteOoooh I really want to read a Gate at the Stairs and How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe. Good to know someone liked them!
ReplyDeletegreat list! so excited to see a peter hessler mention on someone else's year end list. also LOVE midnight's children. given the overlap we have, i think it's about time i read a gate at the stairs - even pre-ordered it for my kindle, but i still haven't read it.
ReplyDeleteand yes, i think an edith wharton read is in order! I hope you'll love her as much as I do now...can't wait to read house of mirth.
200+ books!? Egads. I thought I was doing good at 90. Let the Great World Spin is on my Adult Books/Book Club list. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by my blog. This is an awesome list. i loved Skellig when i read it, i think i bought it for almost everyone i knew the year i read it. Also glad to know the Happiness Project is worth adding to my list.
ReplyDeleteHello, wow ur fantastistic, I would love to read that pursuit of hapiness, the only book i finish reading this year is Harry potter series lol, thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteI plan to start reading the Happiness Project this weekend - and I will refer back to this post for other books on the topic after I finish it :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found so many great books about happiness to read for the ThemeQuest reading challenge. I'm going to copy your happiness reading list -- there are some great ideas there!
ReplyDeleteSuch great lists Debbie. I'm so pleased and surprised to see Amazon Adventure make your top 10. I'll have to try and schedule that for the second half of the year if I remember- I know that I have my old copy lurking in a box in the cupboard. I remember devouring the whole series, but don't really remember much about them. I'm intrigued about Skellig too.
