"If you could physically put yourself into a book or series…
which one would it be and why?"
No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.
I love the main character,
Mma Precious Ramotswe.
The series takes place in Botswana in Africa.
Mma Ramotswe decides to become her country's first lady detective.
Mma Ramotswe treats everyone she meets with respect.
She treats herself with respect;
she is a large woman, but she thinks of herself as
"a woman of traditional build."
I'd love to live in Botswana
and solve mysteries with Mma Ramotswe.
Here's a little audio clip from the latest book in the series,
In the Company of Cheerful Ladies.
How about you? What series or book
would you like to be a part of?

Sounds fun, I have not read this yet so will add it to my TBR pile. It is getting bigger and bigger. Old follower just wanted to stop by and say hi. It is kind of fun to picture the bloggers in the roles they choose for themselves. Stop by to see who I picked.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to read this series!

Apologies in advance for my answer this week as it will not immediately resonate with the book blogger population which happens to be 99.5% female.
ReplyDeleteMy choice is a book series geared towards guys which won’t enthrall the vast majority of my fellow book bloggers (who are almost entirely female) with the extensive discussion of powerful weapons and sexy milspec gear, beautiful women, eye-popping action sequences (with occasionally obscene violence), and the like.
But there IS something in my answer that just about everyone of the female persuasion can benefit from my decidedly “books for guys” post. Hop on over to http://www.howardsherman.net to find out what it is.
Happy Hop Friday!

One of my best friends loves this series. I'll have to pick them up one day. Smith's Akimbo series for children are quite fun! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Cazelet Chronicles and I have always wanted to live in England, so I guess I'ld pick that one.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love a good mystery? So many answers I've seen have Harry Potter in them.
ReplyDeleteHi, and thanks for stopping by Starting the Next Chapter and for becoming a follower. I have added you, as well. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think I've heard of that series before, but I can't remember where or when. It just seems so familiar. Interesting pick!
Sounds like a great adventure! Very interesting choice. I would probably have problem pronouncing the name, tho! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, I'm your new follower, would be great if you could follow back!
Terrific choice, Ms. Nance! Made me recall the novels all over again, and I agree that Botswana would be a fascinating place to visit. A spot of red bush tea with Mma. Ramotswe sounds lovely on this rainy, cold morning!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hopping by Sinnful Books! I've become a new follower ^_^
ReplyDeleteHonestly, that would be an interesting book/series to be part of. I couldn't get into the first book, but I really liked the concept. Cool pick!
I haven't read the books but heard so much about them and it would be interesting to visit.

The No. 1 Detective Agency sounds great when you describe it. I read a short story collection by Smith and didn't really like it, so I haven't given his series a chance. After your wish to be a part of it, I might change my mind.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog - I am a new follower!
