Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.
Great list. It overlaps with my current reading (and some from the past). I am reading The Light Eaters now, finding it challenging. I want to read more books by R. F. Kuang. Simon Kuper‘s Paris might be good, though the amazon review didn’t quite capture my “want to read” feeling. I really like Samin Nosrat — did you watch her Netfilx series based on the book? It’s great.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading to you!… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Nice list! These are all new to me ones! I so know what you mean about sticking to the list you choose for yourself! I'm sure if I look back at my lists I'll find I only ever read 2-3 of them if that! Lol. Things always pop up and suddenly there's a new even I'll attend and want to read books for that or I get a review book that I'll decide to read straight away. Who knows the reasons really! I may just change my mind on the fly! Lol.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
You have some good ones on your list! I admire that you can read multiple books at the same time; I have trouble with that unless they are very different styles (mystery v. essay, etc.) Two fictions and I'm lost!
ReplyDeleteI understand this approach! Hope you like whichever books you do end up reading.
ReplyDeleteSalt, Fat, Acid, Heat sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy "The Light Eaters." It's one of the best books of the past several years in my opinion. I have read it twice and will doubtless read it again.
ReplyDeleteI own Salt Fat Acid Heat! It's a great reference. There is No Place for Us and An African History of Africa look intriguing! I might have to add those to my TBR.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of promising titles! I enjoyed The Light Eaters, and several of these are on my interest list --- including Lonesome Dove.
ReplyDeleteA good and varied list! I really want to re-read Ransome, I have to say.
ReplyDeleteI always appreciate your attitude of gentleness with yourself. I, on the other hand, make these darn lists and then am driven to get all the books read on them. Sigh. My TTT Summer Reading List
ReplyDeleteJames is a not to be missed book in my opinion! A powerfully told and much needed perspective on a classic. Happy summer reading! ~Carol @ ReadingLadies
ReplyDeleteYour title made me laugh - I'm such a big mood reader that I can't ever stick to a TBR. But I do want to read James this year!
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
You have a nice mix for your Summer TBR! I hope you enjoy all on your list!
ReplyDeleteMy brother-in-law LOVES Lonesome Dove (at least the show), so much so that my niece is named Clara, and his dogs are named after other characters. I hope you enjoy the ones you do end up reading.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the list Deb! I hope you enjoy reading all of these when the opportunity presents itself.

The Poppy War is a masterpiece! And Katabasis is on my TBR as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I hope you enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThe Poppy War is great, but pretty graphic and trigger heavy. Please keep this in mind when reading.

Wow! So many new-to-me books! Great post! Lonesome Dove--I need to read it. No one I know whose read it [countless people] has ever been disappointed.
ReplyDeleteOur women's book group read Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, and I thought it was an excellent read: highly recommended!
ReplyDeleteA Bakery in Paris is on my list too and it is the current Cook the Books selection!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list. 👍 I have never seen any of them. I hope you enjoy these books.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite a list! There are a few on here I'd add to mine, but I already have almost zero reading time with all the other stuff I end up having to do.
ReplyDeleteNice list, and I like that you leave yourself plenty of wiggle room! I've actually read that Elizabeth Taylor, and remember liking it enough that I wanted to track down more of her books (which I've yet to do). Hope you enjoy your summer reading!
ReplyDeleteI have salt fat acid heat, and i really must check it out properly!!
ReplyDeletesherry
Interesting, eclectic list. Whatever you choose to read this summer, I hope you enjoy your reading!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Sounds like a fabulous list, enjoy!
