  2. Many congrats to Bailey! Your decorations both at your house and on the blog header are lovely. Nice list of challenges. I have joined the nonfiction challenge for 2026. Others are still under consideration. Great strategy for starting 2026 reading with a bang!

    1. I created a few challenges for myself to remind myself to diversify my reading and to focus on trying to read some good books.

  3. Congratulations to Bailey. AI may one day replace some surgical practices but nothing will ever replace the care and attention of a nurse.

  4. Your reading list is impressive. I have never been able to read multiple books at one time, so I could never do what you are doing. I hope you enjoy your weekend of celebrating and then also enjoy all your Christmas preparations and decorations!
I have two posts for this week. I had just one prepared, but when I read articles about the undermining of vaccine programs in the US and abroad, and jeopardizing years of progress against preventable diseases, I. had to do a second post.
Have a great time and thanks for hosting.

  5. Congratulations to Bailey! I remember my own graduations from nursing school fondly. I hope they had a unique capping ceremony for the new graduates (I don’t think they do this these days however). Have a great time!

    1. There was a beautiful and touching pinning ceremony. The new nurses expressed their gratitude for those who have helped them along the way.

I have so many goat ornaments and maybe next year I will get it all organzied. Thank you for hosting and bringing us all together!

  7. Congratulations to Bailey! I know you are so proud of her. Our daughter graduated from that same nursing school, so I have been to the graduation ceremony there. Nurses are so necessary! Lovely Christmas decorations and tree, etc. Hope you guys have a great weekend!

  10. I'm curious about your thoughts on the Saint Francis of Assisi book! My daughter considered him as her confirmation saint but went with Mary instead. Enjoy Dallas! That's close to where I grew up.

  11. Yay for getting to see Bailey graduate nursing school. Have a fantastic weekend with your loved one. I have already decided I will not be doing any official reading challenges next year, although I will continue to read from my own shelves. I did Mt. TBR this year with a goal of 48 and have currently read 63...which is very exciting. A goal of 100 intimidates me, good luck :)

  27. Hooray and congratulations to Bailey! We need good nurses. (BTW, my daughter went to UT-Arlington before transfering to TCU)

You are reading a lot of good-sounding books. I'm curious about the Maggie Smith book. Would someone who isn't interested in being a writer enjoy it?

Pretty Christmas tree and decorations, Deb!

  34. I hope your weekend away in Dallas was fabulous - how wonderful to have such a star as Bailey to celebrate:)). I'm impressed at your list of books you wish to read and my attention was snagged by the John Green book about TB - I may get a copy of that one:). Your Christmas tree is stunning - we still havne't put our decorations up - partly because I'm sure we'll find Amari has busily rearranged everything to end up on the floor. Have a wonderful week, Deb:).
