Books with Handwriting on the Cover

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.

  1. HI Deb, HP sauce is wonderful. A bit tangy, made in England.
I love the Hope is the Thing with Feathers, the cover is lovely and it sounds good.

  2. Oh nice picks! It's fun seeing how many covers do use a cursive or handwriting like font!

    1. Thank you, Lydia! I wrote the Claudine book. The artist who made the painting on the cover also hand-wrote the title. Her name is Renee Gauvin. I love the cover! - Marian Grudko

  4. It's interesting that they didn't do a handwriting cover for "The Correspondent."

  5. Now you have piqued my interest. I’ll have to check my shelves for covers with handwriting!

  6. Good ones. I recently read Red Sauce, Brwon Sauce and I agree with Jeanie. The Correspondent begged for a hand written title on the cover!

A new book on my library holds list with a handwritten cover is called The Half Life by Rachel Beanland.

  8. It's so sad handwriting seems to be disappearing, it makes everything you read more interesting, somehow.

  9. Great choices! I forgot about Emma M. Lion. I just finished the first volume and really enjoyed it. Red Sauce Brown Sauce looks like a really interesting read and I see several others that look intriguing.

  19. Book covers are very important i find. There are some books i simply cannot bring myself to read if the cover is horrendous - a french one with a ghastly brown cover comes to mind! Yep i love handwriting and names on them!
    cheers
