I began to list 3 Good Things every day during the pandemic. Now I've established a regular routine of writing down my 3 Good Things. Here are 3 Good Things from last week:
Good Thing #1:
A friend and I went to a lecture
by an amateur historian and model ship builder
on Captain James Cook
at University of Texas Medical Branch's
Osher Livelong Learning Institute in Galveston.
Good Thing #2:
A group of us went to see a play, The 39 Steps,
a comedic version of the classic thriller,
in which 150 characters were played
by just four actors.
Good Thing #3:
We finally got rain!
I hope you will write more about the presentation on Captain James Cook — I’m a big fan of books about him!

ReplyDeleteI haven't tried riding an e-bike yet. I met a woman yesterday; she was on a break from a 4-hour e-bike ride. She was having a great time.

DeleteThat sounds like a busy, enjoyable week! I love the sound of The 39 Steps as a comedy - I thoroughly enjoyed the novel and the classic black and white film. And best of luck with the Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn novel. I read it back when Noah was knee-high to a hen and found it good, but profoundly depressing. Have another lovely week, Deb:).

Thirty Nine Steps must ahve been fun to watch.
It's Emily of New Moon by the same person who wrote Anne of Green Gables.

ReplyDeleteI remember finding Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago really fascinating -- hard to say it's a book one can enjoy, but it was worthwhile.
