Sunday Salon: ¡Olé!

¡Olé!

It is time once again for Bloggiesta!

The idea behind Bloggiesta is
to spend these next two days working on
(1) perfecting our blogs, and
(2) connecting with other bloggers doing the same thing.

My Bloggiesta goals:

1. Create a template for the two memes I do each week.
2. Brainstorm ten blog posts to publish this year.
3. Touch up my new header.
4. Visit at least 25% of the participating blogs,

steal...oops! that is, borrow good ideas, and leave a comment.
5. Rethink widgets on sidebar.
6. Read a book.
7. Create a template for book reviews.
8. Participate in at least one Bloggista mini-challenge.
9. Participate in a Bloggista Twitter party.
10. Backup my blog.

Happy Day!
Everything is crossed off my list.
¡Bloggiesta Olé!

  1. Ugh, templates! Why didn't I think of that?? I could make own for the new Sunday meme I started, and get a jump start on templates for Readathon! You're brilliant! I am seriously thinking of doing more structured reviews, but I just don't know how to go about that without ripping off someone else's formula... plus, I'm obviously not super organized so I'm not sure anyone would buy organized reviews from me. ;) Hope you get a bunch done today!

  2. Thank you for the encouragement! I really need that.

(And, just between me and you, I think it's okay to rip off...well, borrow ideas for structured reviews. A little from here, a little from there, and it's not really ripping off, I think. I hope.)

  3. What a list! I hope you get everything done. Happy Bloggiesta!

  4. Templates...what a great idea! Something to ponder...thanks!

I laughed at the part of your list where you're going to "steal" ideas; isn't that what visiting other blogs is about? lol

    BTW...love the new colors here.

I'm working on my Curl up and Read site, but I did do a couple of things over at Rainy Days and Mondays.

    Have fun!

  5. Oh great list! I feel as though I have accomplished nothing this morning. I have commented a bit, been on twitter, thought about working on changing my header, and now I have a commitment so I will be gone the next hour or so....

Have a blast - I will work hard when I get back :)

  6. Great list! I've got a separate list going of all the good ideas I've come across while reading other's Bloggiesta goals! I'm just taking inspiration from them, not stealing their ideas! Right? Right! *L*

Trying to visit everyone who left a link on Suey's start-up post, but think your goal of 50% is more doable.

Good luck, and hope you have fun this weekend!

  7. Wow- you're going to be busy!

While I'm definitely not doing this in the near future, I would like to explore going over to a different host. Seems scary! In a perfect world I'd pay someone to do it for me.

I do need to make sure all my "lists" are updated and linked accordingly, which seems like it might just happen this weekend...

    Good luck!

  9. I got a bit done on my list and am now taking a break to visit other blogs that are participating. Like Alexia561, I, too, created a separate list of things I want to do that I have seen on other blogs. I am also trying to create both a review policy page and an archive review page and so I have been seeing how everyone does both.

Good luck with your to-do list!

  10. You will love having a template for reviews. I think mine has saved me hours already.

  11. I've completed things that were not on my original list! Oh well, it is all good

  12. It took me ages to realize that WordPress offers a feature called "Copy a Post", so I've been using that to do my Waiting on Wednesday meme. It's too easy to forget to change something from the original post, though, so a template sounds better. I'm not sure how to do it on WordPress, but I'll have to look into it!

  13. So which two books were you going to read and why haven't you done that number yet? :)

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I like the serendipity part in your About part!
What's the problem with the social icons in one place? Can you put them all in one widget or something. I did that with my blog and it worked great. But I am not sure how Blogger does those things.

  15. That's what I'm working on right now....though I will be happy to finish one book!

  16. I can't figure out how to put the widgets together in Blogger.

  17. Wow, you've accomplished almost everything! I've been having a lot of fun with it...and one of the best parts is always visiting lots of blogs to see what everyone else is doing.

I always learn something new and get ideas for more tasks!

Congrats...and here's MY SUNDAY SALON POST

  20. Fantastic list and my list of ideas has grown from seeing other blogs and I love all the tips and tricks I've found this weekend..it was/is delightful. Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a wonderful Sunday!

  21. Thanks for stopping by Read My Mind. Bloggiesta can be daunting, but so satisfying when I cross something new off my list!

  22. I think I will probably end up modifying my goals to completing one book!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Are you just reading now?!?! I hope so! Great job this weekend!

  24. You've made awesome progress! Go you!!

  25. Woot! You're almost finished! Awesome job...now if I could only get so far. I've got a TON left to do. Lol.

Thanks for taking my sidebar challenge! Your sidebar looks great! :)

  26. Congrats on reaching all your goals. I'm curious about the book review template...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I came up with a basic format that I can just pop in a title, a photo of the book, a review, and a rating. It's very basic. I need to work on it a little more.

  28. Deb, you're amazing! You crossed off all of your Bloggiesta goals! You're a good example. When you say "create a template for reviews" do you mean make/design a set format that you will always display your reviews in? Like an HTML template and then you just enter the individual info for each book? That's a great idea!

  29. You're done! Congratulations!!

I also had "create a template for reviews" on my to-do list. I think it'll be so helpful when writing new reviews. :)

  30. Congratulations on such a successful Bloggiesta! I can't wait to see the template in use on your next review!
