Texan Again (But With a Shake of Paris and a Handful of Provence)

Shakespeare & Co. in Paris

Cooking Class in Provence
Cafe in Paris

(Please forgive me, but I could not seem to stop myself from posting a few more pictures from France. Last time. I promise. Oh, and which one is me? I'm---oddly---on the far left of every picture.)

I've returned home from France and I'm back in my world of books, though I'm continuing to attempt to live a French life amid my Texas universe. A slew of books arrived for me from the library. I've finished three grownup books and nine children's books from the 1001 list. I'm in that wonderful place where I'm loving what I'm reading (I'm hip deep in The Lost Girls) while simultaneously eyeing the heaps of books awaiting me (Sadness of Lemon Cake...Don't Cry...Trail of Crumbs...two Savory Baking books).

So I will do with the remains of this day what I love best: read. I will also spend time today browsing my favorite blogs in hopes of adding a few new titles to my wishlist. Suggestions are always welcomed!

  3. I am SO far behind and I am going back to enjoy every single France post you've done. (what IS it with us francophiles?)
My favorite picture has to be in front of Shakespear & Co. (Just to show how old I am, I went to the original one last time I was there. Egads.)
Thanks for sharing. And I love the Smurf book, en francais, bien sur.

Oh, but cooking in Provence? Doesn't get much better than that!!!!

  4. I can't explain what has happened to me....Is there a virus that one can carry home from Paris that makes one long for France? How is it that seventeen days can so change a person?

  5. Deb, welcome back. It looks like you had a marvelous time and are settling back into regular (reading) life quite nicely.

As far as a virus, I felt the same way when I returned from Australia. After seven days I was ready to sell all my worldly belongings, pack a bag, and move. LOL

Random, but I just had to share my WV: pygin (I think that's an alternate spelling of pigeon or pidgin or something)

  7. Another Paris post? My gosh, I don't think I can take much more ;).

The Lost Girls? I Googled that. Is this the Laurie Fox book? Are you enjoying it thus far?

I can't explain it, either, but something similar once happened to me! I don't know whether it is good tidings to tell you that you must consider yourself changed forever! ;-)

But you already knew that, didn't you?
