Bloggish, Bookish Resolutions
1. I will post at least once a week.
2. I will sometimes skip a week if I feel like it.
3. I will visit at least ten blogs each week.
4. I will skip visiting blogs if I feel like it.
5. Here are the ten books I plan to read this year...
if I feel like it....
6. I will read 100 books...and...
7. I will review every book...
if I feel like it....
How do these sound?
What are your bookish, bloggish resolutions for 2013???
Each week they will post a new Top Ten list complete with one of their bloggers answers. Everyone is welcome to join. All they ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND post a comment on our post with a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post to share with us and all those who are participating. If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. If you can't come up with ten, don't worry about it---post as many as you can!
Good luck with your resolutions! I like your second resolution - it's important to take a break otherwise blogging starts to become a chore.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb! Thank you for stopping by my blog! I should actually also have included a resolution to skip a week or even a day when I feel like it. One becomes so serious with blogging and posting you start feeling obliged! But you should be able to take a break when you want to!
ReplyDeleteI like your resolutions. they are straight to the point.
ReplyDeleteDebbie these are the best resolutions I've seen. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your resolution. I had some contradictory ones as well. I think I just like making lists.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's probably the best, most level-headed way to go about resolving to do things...
ReplyDeleteWow, your very straight to the point like Geosi said, hehe, but I love it!

Good resolutions!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT!!! I need to learn to recognize the facts that rules are not ironclad --- they can (and perhaps sometimes should) be broken.
ReplyDeleteSince today is a snow day (#2 this week) I am going to use "if I feel like it" as my mantra for the day.
This post made me smile. Resolutions are great, except when they aren't, right?
ReplyDeleteIf I had to make one this year I think it would be to remember that this is always supposed to be fun, and when it isn't, to step away for a moment.
That is a good way to look at it. Resolve to do it, but give an out if you dont want to- avoid burnout.

I love your resolutions! Can I change mine? :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your reading adventures!
here's mine http://tributebooksmama.blogspot.com/2011/01/top-ten-tuesday-top-10-bookish.html
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I love your resolutions. The "if I feel like it" is classic and really how everyone should view their life. The only problem is that inevitably when you don't feel like doing something, you'll beat yourself up over it. So, I need to have "if I feel like it and be okay with it."
ReplyDeleteGreat resolutions. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteI love your attitude. The only resolutions I ever keep are those that end in "if I feel like it." :) Thanks for letting us all know we can be a little less obcessive about reading and blogging.
ReplyDeleteThese are my kind of resolutions! Cheers
ReplyDeleteI love the "if I feel like it" clause! Best resolution ever.
ReplyDeleteI love your resolutions! It's really nice I think to be relaxed about it! Sometimes the pressure of knowing you said you'd do something or that you have to do something makes you not want to do it. You'll have a guilt free 2011! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your resolutions and your "if I feel like it" attitude. Best of luck with all of your goals for this year! Thanks for participating in Top Ten Tuesday every week! We really appreciate it!

Love how you added the caveat "if I feel like it". This post reminded me of the excellent ones you wrote for the 24 hour Read-a-thon Lite. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to visit new blogs, too - participating in a meme is a great way to do it, so I wish you luck in visiting 10!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, triple love the last five words of most of your resolutions-if I feel like it. I found after doing the 100+ Book Challenge last year, and stressing about not writing anything if work got particularly challenging, that if I am going to enjoy either experience at all they have to be on my terms-IOW, if I feel like it :)
ReplyDeleteThese sound like fantastic resolutions! I think we all need to take the pressure off ourselves and enjoy our reading more!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your 100 books. One day I hope to have that as my own goal.
ReplyDeleteI gave you an award over at my blog if you want to check it out:

Tee hee, this is just awesome! And the way blogging should be:)
ReplyDeleteI'm leaving you a comment because I feel like it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm making a list of Houston area book bloggers, and Jen Donovan (5 Minutes for Books) and I are working on planning a meet-up sometime in Febrary or March. Would you be interested in possibly coming ---if you feel like it? I'd like to meet some of the bloggers that I have met and enjoyed online.
I love it, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd love to meet up in Houston somewhere. Last October, we had a tiny Texas blogger meetup at the Texas Book Festival.
