Last week, I left you with my little jalapeños on the kitchen counter, awaiting their fate, a pot of chili for the church chili cookoff.
The time has come.
I start by sautéing the jalapeños with onions.
I don't know where people get the idea that
Texas chili doesn't have beans.
My Texas chili has beans.
And lots of them.
It turns out there are enough jalapeños
to throw a couple into the cornbread, too.
Marinated stew meat...fire roasted tomatoes...
chili powder...pinto beans soaked overnight...
and jalapeño peppers....

Congrats on your win, Deb! I love chilli. I'm vegetarian and I make a very tasty one!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I love chili -- red, green, beans, no beans. And *of course* one puts peppers in the corn bread.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
Congrats for winning! Actually I also have heard before that a REAL chili hasn't got beans in it. But I remember eating chili in Texas with beans, so no idea where that comes from either.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS on the win. It all looks so delish.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for stopping by my blog. I am sure I touched thousands of lives in all those years mostly teaching students how to type and become useful citizens in society.
Such a nice comment...thanks.
