My Book-ish Week: Mood-Boosting Books

What I Read Last Week

I read two books and I'm halfway through with a third from the Mood-Boosting Books list, and, based on that, I heartily recommend this list, if you, like me, are in occasional need of a good mood-boosting book. The first two I finished and the last one I'm halfway through with:

Happy All the Time  Life According to Lubka    Life With the Lid Off

I also read one more book last week. I'd definitely put it on the Comfort Food Book list.

Tales From the Yoga Studio

What Arrived in the Mail
Dinner: The Playbook
This could be life-changing!
How to bring dinner back into our lives....It's a 30-day plan.
Can't wait to read this.

 A Natural Man                       Pickin' Peas
Two new folktales from the publishing master of folktales, August House.  Yippee!

What are you reading today?! Any suggestions for my personal mood-boosting list?

What is the Sunday SalonImagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....That's what happens at the Sunday Salon, except it's all virtual. Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together--at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones--and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book. Click here to join the Salon.

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news and recap the past week.

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at The Printed Page. We share books that we found in our mailboxes last week.
It is now being hosted here.

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews in which you can share the books you've acquired.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between!  This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from! I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme Book Journey loves to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme.

  2. Oh, I'm intrigued by Dinner: The Playbook. Let me know if it looks adaptable to 2 people! It's just my husband and I at home and I struggle to find meal planning books that provide ideas and recipes that are easily scalable to 2 people.

  5. Tales from the Yoga Studio and The Dinner Playbook look fantastic. I want to get into yoga if my doctor allows me, plan on asking her next week, and who doesn't want an easier way to plan dinner! Thanks for the mood-lifting titles. I'm sorry but don't have a suggestion for you as I tend to read dark and depressing books, lol. I'm a suspense thriller junkie.

  13. I've never heard of any of these books. I like that you're reading from the Mood Busting Books list- that sounds fun, I'll check the list out. But I don't really need any more lists, and have more than enough to read already.

    1. It's nice to read books that make you feel good when you finish. I think I've been reading too many books that make me feel sad when I finish.

  24. You definitely got through a lot of interesting looking reads last week! I was lucky enough to read two books that got the 5-star rating from me. ^_^ It makes me happy when I read epic books! I just finished reading Four by Veronica Roth today, and still deciding on what to start next. :)

  26. Good idea to have a mood boosting list of book possibilities! Most of the books I read boost my mood, but then I read those kind of books mostly. Really enjoying River Road by J A Krentz. Even though suspense, I like it.
