What is the Sunday Salon?
The Sunday Salon is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week. It's also a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

What I Read Last Week:
The Love of My After Life by Kirsty Greenwood
What I'm Reading Now:
Mark Twain by Ron Chernow
I began to list 3 Good Things every day during the pandemic. Now I've established a regular routine of writing down my 3 Good Things. Here are 3 Good Things I saw recently:
I'm curious to read your review of the Mark Twain book by Chernow! ~Carol @ ReadingLadies
ReplyDeleteOnly 150 pages to go!
DeleteAw, hope you have fun with the grandkids! Bet that'll be lovely.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy East Texas and the family!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels! Have a wonderful time with your family in East Texas.
ReplyDeleteI was able to see my granddaughter for a few days this summer before school starts. She is headed back to Nebraska now. Great post for the French books and it gave me ideas
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your grandkids!!
ReplyDeleteYour grandkids are so cute! I hope you have a great time.
ReplyDeleteLove Good Thing #1. I'm a big fan of Mary Engelbreit and she's only been getting better recently. She's a fellow St. Louisan!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with the grandkids!
I did not realize Engelbreit was from St. Louis.
DeleteHave a great time with those lovely grandchildren. Love your "Good Things." Especially #3.

ReplyDeleteYou and the grands look so happy in the picture :) I'm sure you're all having a great time!
ReplyDeleteThe kids are so cute, enjoy your visit with them! The Twain book just came in for me at the library ... but how much of the large book will I get to read before it's due? Hmm. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time with those darling children. It's hard to believe how quickly they grow up, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHave a great time visiting your family!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed The Love of My After Life. Hope you have fun with the grandkids!
ReplyDeleteYour grandchildren look so happy to be with you! How nice to visit them before they start school! I love your post about building a longer table! So true. Your good thing number 2 touched me deeply. I hope we learn to live by those words.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are going to see your beautiful grandchildren! I love that you posted for Paris in July! And, I love that you are reading a book on Mark Twain.
ReplyDeleteOur book club chose James by Percival Everett, which I could not abide. One of the reasons,
despite the fact that it won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature, is that I think it is awfully presumptuous to “reimagine” someone else’s idea and expound on it as your own. That is what Gwendolyn Brooks did with March, too, which also won the Pulitzer. So, you can see why I am not on that judging panel. However, I will point out that my book club loved it, so clearly I am in the minority. xo
I'll share your thoughts with my book club tomorrow.
DeleteI always enjoy your three good things.
ReplyDeleteHow are you enjoying the Twain biography? My husband got it for his birthday (he loves Chernow's books), but hasn't started it yet as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely time with your grandchildren!
It is a huge book, and Mark Twain is a mercurial fellow, alternately loving and quickly hating people, places, and things. He saw the world in a completely fresh way, like a kid.
DeleteThat picture of you and the grandkids is so cute.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time away, Deb! Love that photo of all of you. I almost bought that Twain book the other day. Thanks for the great quotes.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the grandkids! Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo of you and your grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the sentiment so much about building longer tables instead of taller fences! Also, that's such a beautiful picture of you and your grandchildren. All the happy smiling faces!
