The Sunday Salon: In Which I Return Home After Roller Skating and Baking and Playing Guitar and Swimming, Etc. in East Texas

Welcome!

I am happy you joined us here at the Sunday Salon

What is the Sunday Salon?

The Sunday Salon is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week. It's also a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

Board games...basketball...nature walks...water park...
baking...the movies...roller skating...
playing guitar...

I think we did it all last week
while I was visiting the grandkids in
East Texas.

What I Read Last Week:

Mark Twain by Ron Chernow (biography)

What I'm Reading Now:

The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang (Fantasy)

I began to list 3 Good Things every day during the pandemic. Now I've established a regular routine of writing down my 3 Good Things. Here are 3 Good Things from last week:

Good Thing #1:

We had a blast at the water park.

Good Thing #2:

I roller skated with the grandkids
for the first time in thirty years.
Fun!

Good Thing #3:

We loved seeing the Fantastic Four movie
together.

  1. Roller skating - very brave. I don't think I've ever done it! Would be interested to learn a bit more about Mark Twain.

  2. Looks like you had a blast with the grandkids! Roller-skating grandma, there is nothing cooler than that! Your review of Mark Twain is intriguing. He sounds like a man who in many ways matured toward empathy. I have to admire that. So many don’t. This is going on the TBR list.

  3. It sounds like a fantastic (but tiring) week, LOL! I have not been on roller skates in years, but I loved them as a kid.

  6. You are indeed a fun grandmother. I could enjoy the waterpark and slides, but I think my roller skating days are over. Used to really enjoy it, but no, no, no. LOL

  7. That water park is hilarious / love the pics. Good job on the roller skates too! I just picked up the Twain book from the library -- ha it weighs quite a bit! But likely it will have to go back to the library before I can get to it. I think I'd need to buy that one in order to read the whole thing. It would take me awhile. Enjoy the grandkids!

  9. I used to love skating. I don't do it anymore. I would probably fall and break something. The water park looks fun.
