Book Covers with Cool Typography

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.

  1. Ooh nice ones! That Alice in Wonderland one is fun! My version just has classic cursive...which in itself is like an ancient language these days! Lol.

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. “Cool” has become such an overworked word. I cringe when I hear it. The English language is rich in adjectives. The covers might be considered creative, beautiful, scintillating, interesting, ornate, stunning, artistic…….but cool?

    1. Yes. Cool is the only word that hits my exact emotional reaction to these covers.

    2. Light. Fun. Important but also unimportant.

    3. Yes! The ones I picked, at least, aren't all "cool" in the same way. They're worthy of stopping and looking for a bunch of different reasons. "Cool" is a very useful term because it can stand in for a lot.

  6. This is the second list I've seen mention that Moby Dick cover—it's very cool! The one for 1984 is very eye-catching too. Great picks!

  7. Nice collection! (Nice is even more overused than cool. They are both very useful words. I can’t see any reason to get fancy).

  8. I just love type fonts and book covers. Just love them. I have bought many a book by its cover, and usually with pretty good results!

  9. You found some really good classic book covers. That would be a compelling prompt to have us all out there searching for the best classic book covers. The George Simpson one and Great Gatsby are really fantastic.
