What is the Sunday Salon? The Sunday Salon is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week. It's also a time to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.
We had lots of company last week---our granddaughter and great-granddaughter plus my sister and her husband and my brother. It rained almost every day, but we still managed to make it to Galveston where we played on the beach, and we spent time with great-granddaughter, Lucy, exploring all the wonderful toys we keep at our house for just such visits.
My husband and I celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary by going out to eat and (yay!) visiting a bookstore.
I also squeezed in a couple of swims between rainstorms, and I made it to my writing group for the first time in several weeks.

I began to list 3 Good Things every day during the pandemic. Now I've established a regular routine of writing down my 3 Good Things. Here are 3 Good Things from last week:
Good Thing #1:
I showed considerable restraint and
just came home with one book
from the anniversary trip to the bookstore.
Good Thing #2:
I made progress in French
on Duolingo.
Good Thing #3:
Lucy took a surprise photo of us this week.
Sometimes it's nice to see things
from an almost-four-year-old's
point of view.
Hurrah for the anniversary (and associated bookstore trip) -- congrats. Sounds like a busy week, but you always do seem to make the most of it!
ReplyDelete“I just came home with one book from the anniversary trip to the bookstore.” Remarkable! It reminds me that sooner or later I am going to have to make agonizing choices about which books I will keep and which I will have to let go. We have no firm intentions to move yet, but the garden is getting beyond our ability to keep it up the way my wife would like, and there are times when a condo seems very inviting. There is no way that I would be able to keep all my books, however. It’s a decision I can put off for now, but it will have to be made sooner or later. And I keep acquiring more!

We have needed it, but not as much as some areas got in such a short time. Our lakes here are full, some for the first time in several years. Cute picture taken by 'Miss-4-year-old' - ha!

ReplyDeleteHappy 48th anniversary! And, yay for restraint...but maybe not on bookstores, but something else, LOL! I am glad you were able to enjoy time with your family, despite the rain. We are getting the smoke from Canada and have had terrible air quality days, making us stuck in side. I reviewed The Bitter End Birding Society book this week, and I thought of you every time I read it. I think you would enjoy it.

I am always amazed by your reading. You obviously must be a much faster years than I am! Congratulations on your anniversary and may you celebrate many, many more. My husband and I just recently celebrated our fifty-first.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture Lucy took and that reminds me of either videos or photos that I saw recently, all taken by the little kid at the family gathering. I think the kid was running around taking video? Or was it pictures? Why can I not remember this? Anyway, it was really cool because we could see views looking UNDER tables and chairs and people looked so tall and strange.
