Keep Your Hand Moving

Last weekend, I read for twenty-four hours straight.

I didn't read this weekend.

I wrote.

All day Saturday.

I went to Develop a Writing Practice Workshop. It was in Austin at Casa de Luz.

I showed my husband pictures of Casa de Luz and tried to talk him into making our backyard like it.

Here are the things I did this weekend that I've never done before:
1. Ate vegan.
2. Did sitting meditation.
3. Went to a bookstore three times and didn't buy a single book.

I am going to write every day now. I might do more sitting meditation. I hope I never eat vegan again.

A beautiful day. Except for the vegan. Except for the not-reading.

  1. You know there was a great writers' workshop in Alvin on Saturday, right?

  2. Eek! I missed the ACC workshop, didn't I? How can that happen?

  3. Good luck with the backyard mission! My husband only helps with "wildlife issues" such as trapping rogue bunnies, removing dead packrats, and so on. ...which are all good and necessary things too!

  4. I feel you on the non-reading. Let's hope it's better for all of us this week.

  6. Sounds like a great workshop. I've tried vegan, didn't work. I hate soy yogurt and love cheese:)
What did you think of the meditation?

  7. The meditation was not what I thought it would be. It was easy. I thought meditation was all about positions and control and forcing yourself to do something unpleasant...but it was not like that...it was easy.

  8. I have not done much reading since the read-a-thon. I am in midst of books but lately due to loss of my blog I have been moping around!

BTW, everything distils into reading is my new blog. Please do visit it, subscribe to it or follow it! Do help me spread the word.

  9. I've always wanted to try going vegan, even for a limited amount of time - I'm a dedicated vegetarian and have always wondered what it would be like to take it one step further.
