What I Finished Last Week Last week, I learned a secret about reading: If you don't have to go to work...if you don't waste time dusting or vacuuming or washing clothes or cooking meals...if you just focus on the really important things like, well, reading...then you can read a lot of great books. Here's what I read last week: And I've got my bookmark in a half-dozen more. |
What are you reading today?!
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from! I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme Book Journey loves to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme. Book Journey offers a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling BJ how many you visited.
Seriously? That's a lot of reading done! I've heard of your secret before, but haven't had enough chances to experiment with it. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe 100-year-old man is on my shelf, it's supposed to be very good.
Deb's got her groove back! Woo hoo. That's some haul. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI had a fabulous reading week!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! What a great week for you. I'm very interested in what you thought of Life after Life.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm checking some of these to see if I want to read. Right now I'm reading Maeve Binchy's A Week in Winter with my tiny book club. So far I really like it. Just finished American Assassin by Vince Flinn and Collateral Damage by Stuart Woods. I'm all over the place in my reading!

More baths Less Talking sounds like my ideal life!
ReplyDeleteI do like that secret...and I actually follow it a lot of the time! Thanks for sharing....enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteMore reading, less dusting.
Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST
Yes, always less dusting. Too much dusting in the world.
ReplyDeletehahaha I definitely need to take that course of action ;)
ReplyDeleteI've seen the 100 Year Old Man on quite a few blogs.
Have a great week and happy reading again lol
WOW that is a great score. I see we read one book in common about the 100 year old man ;)
ReplyDeleteDid you count the frogs?
Thanks for dropping by and have a great week!!
I like your reading secret. I tend to get distracted by Facebook games unless the book is really engrossing though. I don't ever get distracted by cooking or cleaning. Come see my Monday Report. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteI quit dusting a few months ago, but it started to drive me crazy so I spent this weekend getting rid of all the thick layers of dust. The house looks beautiful, but I'm ready to take a few months off again. ;)
ReplyDeleteHow did you like Blossoming in Provence? I love the cover!! I also want to read The House on Mango Street. It's been on my mental TBR list for years.
Today I'm listening to The Twelve by Justin Cronin and reading All Shall Be Well by Deborah Crombie. I have the day off, so I'm planning to curl up on the couch and ignore the vacuuming. :)
I need to find a day soon to put your secret into practice :) Everyone needs a day to be surrounded by books for improved mental health! Great list of books.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading,
Rebecca @ The Key to the Gate
Blossoming in Provence sounds really good! I really enjoy that genre of books, and will read every single one of them. Lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT week of reading! I'm with you, if you skip the boring stuff in life you'll have a heck of a lot more time for reading, lol. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWow, great week and really interesting titles! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWow, great week and really interesting titles! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteDusting? What's that. I always joke that when I dust there's a mushroom cloud rising up from the top of the house. Once every six months--whether it needs it or not.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby does the floors, so at least those are clean without me doing anything.
At any rate, you have some interesting books. I'm going to look them up. (I have a gift card to use. Yahoo!)
What a week, Deb! Which book was your favorite?
ReplyDeleteWow, and I thought I had a great reading week, but you did amazing!
ReplyDeleteI loved To Kill a Mockingbird, Natasha. I spent all day reading it and fell in love again with Atticus Finch.
ReplyDeleteThe other trouble with dusting, Les, is that it riles up my allergies. Horrible coughing and congestion. Surely everyone can accept my inability to dust in light of all these difficulties!
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny. I may be using these last few months of pregnancy to get in a lot of reading myself. "Well, I loaded the dishwasher. Now I need to go put my feet up and read for a bit..."
ReplyDeleteI hope you have another fantastic reading week!
I just finished Life After Life tonight. Loved it!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of books! I doubt I could sit still long enough to read that many in one week. My solution is audiobooks while I'm moving around.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of books! Interested in your thoughts on the Shields book and on the McCorkle novel. cheers
