Yes, It's Monday!

It's our favorite day of the week and it's time to see what we are reading.

I finished two fabulous children's books last week that had completely slipped through my (or so I thought) Amazingly Good Book Radar. I haven't written up my reviews yet (of course!) but, until then, I'll just say that both of these books would fully satisfy grownup readers with their thoughtful stories. And (just a little bit more) if you are a fan of Hunger Games, I feel pretty confident that you will love Taronga, a story set in a post-Apocalyptic Australian zoo.

What I Read Last Week

Taronga by Victor Kelleher        Hitler's Daughter by Jackie French

What I'm Reading Now

Snapper by Brian Kimberling     This is Not a Book by Keri Smith

Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan

Keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm off to the International Reading Association Conference on Friday in la hermosa ciudad San Antonio, so I hope to return soon with one of those unbelievable Look-at-All-the-Great-Books-I-Acquired photos.

How about you?
What are you reading today?!

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between!  This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from! I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme Book Journey loves to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme. Book Journey offers a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling BJ how many you visited.

  1. Good to hear that you liked Taronga especially. It's a bit of an obscure title- it had certainly slipped past my book radar too. I'm seeing Snapper around a lot, I don't really know anything about it, but it's a very striking cover.

  3. I wish we knew more about the Australian titles on the 1001 Children's Books list here in the US. And the Canadian titles. And the European titles....

  15. Hitler's Daughter is a story one character starts telling her friends at the bus stop each morning before school about a girl who is secretly Hitler's Daughter. The girl has some markings on her face and she is kept in seclusion. The friends get drawn into the story and beg to hear more. Very, very interesting.
