I see many of these varieties every day here in the Arizona desert. I don't necessarily think of cacti as beautiful, but there are certainly some really interesting-looking varieties!
Love this post. I am so into plants now. I always loved them before the pandemic but I also always killed them. Ha! I have been doing well these days and they are thriving. A first!
They are lovely. Many years ago we visited a huge cacti park in Spain. I bought three in plastic packaging each about an inch high. I carefully packed them in our suitcase so as not to get damaged. It was only several years later when a friend was admiring them that he told us we were lucky the sniffer dog wasn't around or we would have been arrested for importing alien plants. One of them is now over 3' tall with a 3' spread. Another was over 4' tall but rotted off in the middle.
Recognise a few from seeing smaller ones in the garden centres but others are lost on me

ReplyDeleteWe've been to Sedona and Arizona often. On my bucket list is to go to the desert in the spring to see the flowers.

DeleteSo much beauty! I love cacti and succulents. We have two small sections in our garden just for these types of plants and they've done so well.
