In case 2021 is anything like 2020, I have Pie Academy ready and I will bake my heart out.
What books are others choosing for a First Book? Take a look at Book Journey here.
My #OneWord for 2021? I'm sticking with the same word I've had for the last three New Year's Days. Play. It reminds me to be in the moment, to be spontaneous, to enjoy my life, to draw upon the spirit of love and joy that abides within us at all times. Play. My One Word.
Want to pick your own One Word? Take a look here.
Do you have a First Book for 2021? Have you chosen One Word? I hope you will share in the comments.
A delicious choice, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy and healthy new year!
I so wish you could send a pie this way! Okay, I'll just go and bake my own. Any really nice, but easy recipe in that awesome book of yours?
ReplyDeleteHope you will PLAY a lot this year Debbie.
Lots of Love,

I have The Art of Pie, Pie Camp, and now Pie Academy on my January reads list. I've deemed 2021 the year I will master the pie crust :)
ReplyDeleteI've pondered many words for this new year, but I think my 2020 word of the year still has more to teach me: Acceptance.
Happy New Year, Deb!
What a great choice = who doesn't love a good pie? Love the pic too Deb. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWonderful word, "play." I think I'll adopt it... maybe I'm too serious.

Baking is therapeutic. I like your first choice and I think we need to keep busy doing things we love as we weather the storm of this virus. I hope you have a wonderful reading year in 2021!
ReplyDeleteYUM! What a great book. It will bring such deliciousness into your life. Love your word as well.
ReplyDeleteI like your word. And the book looks great. You'll enjoy that one all year long and beyond!
ReplyDeletePie Academy looks like a 'dangerous' book for me to look at. Ha! Enjoy and I love your 'one word'!
ReplyDeletePlay is a great word for 2021. And that pie book looks yummy. :D I think if I had to choose one word for me for 2021 I'd go with Hope.
ReplyDeleteGreat first word and it's so much fun to see everyone's First Book! I hope it's a good/yummy one.
ReplyDeleteI do love pie. I think that's a great book to start the year out with! I really like that your one word is play. We all need more of that in our lives. Have a healthy and happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI don't bake, but I do love to eat pie :) The book looks like a fun one to start the year with. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Deb! Love both your one word and your first book! I think 'play' is a fabulous word to remind yourself of every day, every year, love it!
ReplyDeleteMy husband would love it if I got that pie book! He is always asking for pie, which is something I NEVER make. Play is a great word. I can see why you wouldn't want to pick something new. Happy New Year, Deb!
ReplyDeleteHave fun baking and playing! Happy New Year :)
ReplyDeleteI love your first book and your word! I'm excited to start experimenting with cookbooks and recipes again. We were away from home for 3/4 of the year in 2020 all together which makes cooking not so possible.
ReplyDeleteOh yummy, your home will be smelling of gorgeous pies very soon! A happy new year and may their be much play. My word for this year is Stretch!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I think you are fully prepared for 2021! Great picture and will be checking out to see which pie recipes you recommend. And, play, yes great word for the year.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of you & the book. Pie Academy : how fun! Good luck with all your Baking in 2021!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your word! Being so isolated it's been hard for me to feel the joy. A reminder to play is the perfect thing. Maybe I'll steal it :)
ReplyDeleteI think you chose the perfect book and PLAY is a great word.
ReplyDeleteI did my first book post at http://powerfulwomen.wordpress.com (you'll have to use the search box) and have decided to NOT pick a word this year. Not sure why, just don't want to.
