What is the Sunday Salon?
The Sunday Salon is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week. It's also a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.
What I Read Last Week:
Gringos by Charles Portis (Fiction)
What I'm Reading Now:
The Mirror & the Light: A Novel by Hilary Mantel (Historical Fiction)
Finger Exercises for Poets by Dorianne Laux (Nonfiction)
I began to list 3 Good Things every day during the pandemic. Now I've established a regular routine of writing down my 3 Good Things. Here are 3 Good Things from last week:
Good Thing #1:
We saw this beautiful Whirlabout
during our butterfly survey this week.
Good Thing #2:
A migrating Wilson's Warbler
hopped around in a shrub
right outside my window.
Good Thing #3:
This peacock was wandering
around the county park
while we were doing naturalist work
last week. Beautiful,
but non-native!
I hope you have a great time at the book festival and then with family visitors. Seeing that warbler must have been exciting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.

Wish I could be at the San Antonia book festival! Sounds like a great trip.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy the book festival and have a wonderful visit with your family.
ReplyDeleteOur weather is finally turning nice, too. Hooray for spring! How fun to go the book festival, and have family coming to visit. And that little Wilson's Warbler looks so sweet. Life's simple joys during turbulent times are what keep me from crawling under the covers every day.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in San Antonio! Is the book festival near the River Walk? I went to college at Trinity U. but I haven't been back to San Antone in many years. Carry on with the great weather.
ReplyDeleteThe festival was on the grounds of both the San Antonio Public Library (central location) and University of Texas-San Antonio. There was a booth from Trinity Press at the festival and it had some great book offerings.
DeleteYou'll have such a good time with your tribe. AND at the festival! Enjoy to the max!
ReplyDeleteMy younger sister was just in San Antonio! For an extra week, even, due to American Airlines shenanigans (she missed our grandmother's funeral a result) -- but her fiancée and her fiancée's kids live there, so she didn't mind that much, you know.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have fun.
ReplyDeleteI love your 3 Things! Have a great time at the book festival and with granddaughter and her daughter!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been very nice where I live too. I hope you are having a wonderful time at the San Antonio Book Festival and enjoy your visit with your family this coming week! Although I don't think Finger Exercises for Poets is something I would read, I do like that cover and title very much. I hope you are enjoying your current reads. I hope you have a great week, Deb. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThe peacock is beautiful, if not native. The butterfly and warbler are beautiful, too!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful time at the book fair and a great visit with the family.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fun and wonderful week. Love the pictures especially the peacock!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the birds, etc that you see on your nature walks/work. And the San Antonio Book Festival is fantastic, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteLovely nature pictures! We don't have that sort of wildlife here. Enjoy your family visiting.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely rest of the weekend!
That Wilson's Warbler is beautiful!! And I know I would love to be in San Antonio for a book festival!! Plus finger exercises for poets? I am in

ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying your weekend. A book festival and time with your family sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteWe finally have a spring like day!! It has been much colder than normal. Love peacocks.
ReplyDeleteYes! I'll sign your petition for more pretty weather! I've not been to a book festival, but I've heard there's one in Arizona that's huge - and on my bucket list! I marked Gringos audio on Hoopla as a favorite - should be listening to it in the near future. I wonder how that non-native peacock made it into the park? Take care! I'm sure you enjoyed the book festival and are now enjoying family!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great time at the book festival. The peacock is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed the book festival! Have a lovely time with your granddaughter and great-grandchild. And thank you for sharing your bird photos—I always enjoy seeing what other bird enthusiasts are seeing.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed the Book Festival. I visited San Antonio almost two years ago and really want to go back. What lovely birds and butterflies. I can't wait for spring weather to hit here.
