Summertime is my best time for reading.
If you know me at all,
you know that I will be reading
every day this summer.

Nonfiction Books:
I'm on the panel to choose the best nonfiction book of 2011

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.
You certainly have big plans for the summer Debbie. Good luck with getting through them all, I'm sure you will. Hope you get some beach action too. And thanks so much for the link to the group- I certainly hope we have some new keen folks join us for the fun.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great and ambitious list! I'm looking forward to what you have to say about The Invention of Hugo Cabret. I've always thought of The Hound of the Baskervilles (and all Sherlock Holmes stories actually) as autumnal, but the contrast between foggy moors and sunny beach might be quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteI cry every time I read Old Yeller. What a great list of books.
ReplyDeleteI think i'm going to add two children books to my summer reads.
ReplyDeleteYour non-fiction choices sound very interesting. I shall look out for your reviews!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of reading children's stories for the summer. Kaye—the road goes ever ever on
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun list to read! I hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteA very interesting combo list, Deb. I've never seen THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES described as a 'children's' book, but, maybe...Needless to say, I've always loved it.
ReplyDeleteI loved THE ARRIVAL!
Also THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET - gorgeous book!!
I love mysteries. Here's my sugestion
ReplyDeleteThat's a big list! I don't know if I'd take the children's books to the beach. I'd go through them too fast.
ReplyDeleteI just finished Where the Red Fern Grows with our 5 year old. Not sure if I can handle another super sad dog book this summer. I’m going to have to research some of those other children books - always looking for good titles in this genre!
ReplyDeleteVery ambitious list there, hope you make a lot of inroads into it during your summer!
ReplyDeleteYou should put Hugo Cabret at the top of your list! I think you'll really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Though sad, Old Yeller is certainly a classic ;)
ReplyDeleteI am particularly interested in the non-fiction titles you have in your bag; I've only read one, My Korean Deli, which I liked alot.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions. I can't handle Old Yeller but Moby-Duck sounds too good to pass up!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! :) :) :) Thanks for stoping by me blog!
ReplyDeleteI have The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth out from the library right now - I really want to read it!
ReplyDeleteSome of those nonfiction books look really fun. I remember wanting to check out My Korean Deli and Moby Duck.
