In Which I Consult with Mother Teresa in an Attempt to Counter the Effects of the Unremitting Busy-ness of Life

The words of truth are always paradoxical.

Here's my great truth, my crazy paradoxical truth:   I've been so busy lately, so busy doing book-ish things---going to the Texas Book Festival...preparing for an upcoming book fair...getting everything done for our school's author visit...the thirty-two classes I see each week as a school librarian...frantically trying to locate the hundred books I'll be reading for the Cybils---that I have not had time to blog or review books or even read.

Let me say that again, so I can really think about it:

I have not had time to blog or review books or even read.

And why?

Because I have been too busy doing book-ish things.

Inspiration. I need inspiration. Mother Teresa? Can you advise me?

“We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.”
― Mother Teresa

Yes, of course. True, if not exactly inspiring. I think I need a little more, Mother Teresa.

"The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway."
― Mother Teresa

Okay. I will try. Anything else to add?

"We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love."
― Mother Teresa

Better. Thanks, Mother Teresa.

    1. I always get so caught up in the heady rush of being a blogger with followers that I forget why I blog. And it's not to get more followers.

  2. Cute post! Love how those quotes progress for you. Don't stress... we all need a break now and then. Then we can come back with a fresh view. So I hope you get to relax a bit and then pick up a fun book to get started reading again. :-)
