What I'm Reading Now
East of Eden
by John Steinbeck
From Amazon: "California's fertile Salinas Valley is home to two families are fruitfully and fatally intertwined. Old Follower :)
I love East of Eden, it's one of my favorite books ever. I hope you'll like it, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when the reading flows easily as it seems like it is for you now.
Thanks for stopping by my Monday post earlier :) Happy reading!
When you have 225 books awaiting you, it's pretty easy to find a few fabulous reads!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and for the encouragement. Hope you enjoy Cloud Atlas, I've heard it requires a great deal of focus and concentration ... I think I'll watch the movie first, that may help.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading :)
I've heard good things about The Other Typist and The Mouse Proof Kitchen. I'm glad to see that you liked them.
ReplyDeleteI want to read East of Eden someday as well as The Grapes of Wrath.

It's an odd week when I read only novels! Not sure what is going on there....
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long time since I read Steinbeck...but I love his settings. It's a part of California that I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteCounting by 7s sounds intriguing.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week!

ReplyDeleteAshley @ Book Junkie: Not-So-Anonymous
I've been wanting to read The Other Typist and Cloud Atlas!
ReplyDeleteI really liked The Mouse Proof Kitchen though it is unusual in its own way. I am not going to even attempt Cloud Atlas though
ReplyDeleteRead on!

ReplyDeleteCloud Atlas seems like a great read for the summer. I love East of Eden (but you probably already know that). :-) Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the mind-twisting Other Typist a lot. I still haven't read East of Eden. Steinbeck is not one of my favorites but maybe someday I'll give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI read The Other Typist this week too! I'm off to see what you thought. Good luck with keeping up the great reading streak!
ReplyDeleteTwo 'classics' this week I see. I hope you enjoy them both, and I look forward to you sharing your thoughts on Cloud Atlas.
ReplyDeleteI hope your reading streak continues on in force!

ReplyDeleteOh, I love Cloud Atlas! It takes a bit of time to get used to the structure, but it's such a great read.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books this week. I finished What the Spell? by Brittany Geragotelis (4/5 stars) last week. This week I'm reading Solaris by Stanislaw Lem, Fields of Elysium by A.B. Whelan, and OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu.
ReplyDeleteYou read a nice variety of genres, Rose.
ReplyDeleteCloud Atlas is complex; if nothing else, you have to admire it for that amazing complexity, Shannon.
ReplyDeleteGreat list of books! The Other Typist sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
Elizabeth, now I'm wondering if I missed something. Should I have been confused by the ending?!
ReplyDeleteCounting by 7s is on my TBR pile. Lots of people seem to be talking about it.
ReplyDeleteI finished The Other Typist yesterday. The ending threw me for a loop! I was OK with most of it, but then the last line left me saying, "Huh?"
ReplyDeleteInteresting, Diana. Elizabeth said that, too.
ReplyDeletenice list, Deb! and I know you've a stack to get thru yet, so will be expecting more goodies from you ;))
ReplyDeletethx for stopping in at FHC !always appreciated =)
A week late but at least I am getting out to visit!
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice mix - some sound cute and then there is East of Eden. That wouldn't be a pick for me - he may be an excellent writer but a bit too dramatic and depressing most of the time for my tastes. I hope you enjoyed all of your reading and had a good week!
Thanks for stopping by, Martha!
