Continuons à Lire Paris!

What I Read Last Week

I spent most of last week in Paris:
The Little Paris Bookshop
Between Meals: An Appetite for Paris
Paris by Pastry

What Arrived in the Mail

Two new early chapter books: Anna, Banana, and the Friendship Split
and Anna, Banana, and the Monkey in the Middle

One perfect-for-summer novel: The Summer of Good Intentions

What I'm Reading Now

The new Brene Brown book, Rising Strong,
and the new Harper Lee book (who'd have ever thought I'd be saying that!)

What are you reading today?!

And I hope you'll stop by and throw your name in the hat
to win a finished hardback of Eight Hundred Grapes
along with a clever little EHG coffee mug.
Stop by here to win!

What is the Sunday SalonImagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....That's what happens at the Sunday Salon, except it's all virtual. Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together--at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones--and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book. Click here to join the Salon.

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news and recap the past week.

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at The Printed Page. We share books that we found in our mailboxes last week.  It is now being hosted here.

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews in which you can share the books you've acquired.

    2. Good idea! Tough though, isn't it? (at least for me since it seems every other blog I visit talks about the book ...)

  3. I'm looking forward to seeing reviews on Go Set a Watchman. I've seen a few from some major publications but I trust blogs so much more. Paris sounds like a lovely place to spend the week and all three of those are on my TBR. Have a great week!

  5. I am reading Go Set a Watchman, too. But I've only just started it, wanting to finish my other books before I dive in. I posted a RANT this week and would love for you to visit it and jump in and let me know what you think. Thanks.

  7. The Little PAris Bookshop has me very curious, I love the idea and I've seen good reviews and a couple lukewarm ones. Will be curious to see what you thought!

  10. Thanks for the heads up about the new Brene Brown. Most of her books do not get published in Australia, so I have to bring them in from our US supplier...I'm sure this will very popular with her fan base here :-)

  13. Deb, I agree that reading about it is the second best way to spend a week in Paris. Some great book suggestions. I've started The Red Notebook this week.

  16. Great French reads to add to my Paris in July list . My library reserve of Little Paris Bookshop hasn't arrived as yet, so it may not make it for this year :)
