If I don't like a book, it is usually because I don't like a character. Here are some of the characters I just didn't click with.
Didn't like him. Didn't like her.
Please don't judge all middle-aged women by this vindictive woman.
The main character man is so miserable he kills himself early on.
His wife doesn't seem to lament his loss much either.
No love for Marlow. Certainly no love for Kurtz.
I really hate it when I dislike a character who is a real person.
Good grief. My most despised stereotype? The alluring nerd.
Loathed the book. Loved the movie. Go figure.
I had a teacher who loved this book.
I just couldn't connect with a doll made of hickory nuts.
I realize I'm stepping into dangerous territory.
But I will dare to say it...I hate Owen Meany.
And now, what will probably be the final nail in my coffin,
I will speak this out loud:
No, I didn't like either of our romantic characters in this book. Not a bit.
Please don't hate me.
