SPRING BREAK
Spring break was this week, and I planned to do a lot, but I didn't; I was that tired. Even my reading suffered. I worked on one book all week, and I didn't even finish it. Was I reading War and Peace? A Faulkner novel? No, Love and Gelato.

The weather was lovely, cool but sunny, and I did go to the Houston Livestock Show and I worked on our new raised bed garden and cooked and cleaned and I worked on my blog, but I'm not rested like I thought I'd be.
Can I have another week off?

What are you reading today?
What is the Sunday Salon? Imagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....That's what happens at the Sunday Salon, except it's all virtual. Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together--at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones--and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book. Click here to join the Salon.
The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news and recap the past week.
Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at The Printed Page. We share books that we found in our mailboxes last week.
It is now being hosted here.
Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews in which you can share the books you've acquired.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from! I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is now being hosted at The Book Date.
It sounds like you got plenty done - but I know when the holidays come round, I have so much stacked up and rush around getting them sorted out and then start back feeling I've failed as there is STILL a lot of stuff on my To Do list and like you, want at least another week to get them sorted out! Anyway, we have the Easter holidays coming up soon, which is a fortnight so I'll get a chance to unwind a bit then... I hope returning to school isn't too hard tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteMaybe that’s what happened. Maybe I overplanned
DeleteI am winding down spring break too ... it is now full throttle until the end of the year!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the bracket :)
I just have about eight weeks left until retirement.
DeleteBusy week. I have never been to a livestock show. They have plenty of them here but I have never been. I hope you have a great week of reading! I like the Literacy Lunacy tho! I have to go vote - P & P is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteMary #SundayRoundup #10
I had never been until I went with my daughter-in-law, who is a huge fan.
DeleteSpring break is always a lovely time...but it is over fast, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog. Have a great week!
Just think - after spring break, the rest of the school year flies by! Your trip is coming quickly! Take care!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting the March Madness for literature! That was fun and I can't wait to see the results and vote in the next round! Sorry you are still tired after spring break; ours begins next weekend.
ReplyDeleteSpring Break sounds awesome. I wish we had it here in the UK!
ReplyDeleteOooh! I love the look of that Literary Lunacy chart!

I still have three more weeks before spring break, and can hardly wait. The Literary Bracket looks very fun!
ReplyDeleteSorry Spring Break wasn't as restful as you hoped. But retirement is around the corner and probably in view now. That March Madness reading showdown looks interesting. The one bracket that caught my attention was A Wrinkle in Time versus Atlas Shrugged. Are they supposed to have something in common? Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteEven though I'm enjoying the real thing, that bookish March Madness looks like fun, too!! Glad you got so much done during spring break, but sorry you're not quite rested and refreshed. The end of the school year is coming...
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me you do need another week off, sometimes a week is just not enough. Hope you enjoyed pottering doing different things though.
ReplyDeleteNow if spring would only feel like spring!
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad because you could only finish one book last week. I usually read one book per week, everyone has their own pace and life often gets in the way whether you want it or not. Have a nice week!

Oh I'm betting I'd do the same and nap. Sometimes a body just needs that. lol Hope this week is a little better on the reading front for ya!
ReplyDeleteMy Spring Break was somewhat of a disappointment too. This is such a lovely meme; thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteThat Literary Lunacy is a lunacy alright. Holy crap my head almost exploded just scanning at that.
