The Readerbuzz October Giveaway: Matched! plus It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday and I'm reading One Amazing Thing by Chitra Divakaruni. It's the Gulf Coast Reads selection for 2011. Gulf Coast Reads is the combined effort of the Houston Public Library along with several other Texas Gulf Coast library systems, including, happily, the system in my county.

The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction by Alan Jacobs

A book about the pleasures of reading ought to be a pleasure to read. I did not find this book to be a pleasure to read....more....

The Wild Hog Murders: A Dan Rhodes Mystery by Bill Crider

It has been a long time since I’ve read a Bill Crider mystery. According to the reading log I keep at Goodreads, it has been since 2003. That's too long...more....

My Place by Nadia Wheatley and Donna Rawlins

Wheatley starts with present day Australia in this children's picture book from the 1001 CBYMRBYGU list and moves back ten years for each two page spread...more....

How about you?  What are you reading today?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! D This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme Book Journey loves to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme. Book Journey offers a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling me how many you visited.

  1. Mockingjay (Hunger Games book 3). I blew through Hunger games last week & Catching Fire this weekend. Really enjoying this trilogy.

  2. Divakaruni is such a good writer. I do hope you enjoy her books.

  3. Thanks for dropping by @ We Fancy Books :)
Happy Monday~ awesome title you got here

  4. I always mention "The Cabot Cove Effect" when I talk about my books. You wouldn't want to live in Blacklin County, which has more murders per capita than anywhere in the world.

  5. Great looking books on your list this week. I got sidetracked from the Stephanie Plum series...I've read only two of them so far! I need to go back to the beginning...and begin there!

  6. First of all, I love that blog button! I want to eat it!! Also, thanks for stopping by...awesome giveaway you've got there, but I own Dash & Lily and their awesomeness!

loved your Friendship Bread post and that you're in a reading club for it - would luv the starter but it wouldn't get its daily squish!

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog. so that first novel had nothing pleasurable about its reading content or was it the reading style of the writer?

  9. I just finished One Amazing Thing and it is absolutely lovely. Hope you are enjoying it as much as I did!

  10. I enjoyed Smokin Seventeen however the series needs to move on, nothing seems to be happening.

Here is my week in review

  11. The Janet Evanovich is a future read for me. I have yet to pick it up but it's on my list. Probably when I am in the mood for something light and funny.

  12. Sidne, it might have just been me. I've been a snarky reader lately.

  13. I'm reading historical fiction about Fanny Fern.

  14. The Wild Hog Murders has such cute cover! and Smokin Seventeen looks amazing! Happy Reading and thank you for stopping by!

  15. Happy Un-birthday month! The Illustrated Mom looks perfect! I'm going to look into picking it up. :o)
