Oh no, War & Peace! Isn't that a bit much? Shouldn't you tackle it a few chapters at a time and read something lighter in between? Good luck with the book!
ReplyDeleteI've read 5 books this week.
Whoa! That's long and challenging! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Monday Wrapup
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Good luck with that. Although, I agree with Leeswammes in that you might enjoy it more if you read it in parts and had something light to break it up a little.
ReplyDeleteWow it's a doorstop! Good luck with it. Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteI have War and Peace on my shelf, too. Mine is a little thinner but the pages are that thin, light is alomst shining through them. Good luck with it! I will keep looking at it standing on the shelf a little more. :)
ReplyDeleteMy Monday post is here.
That is super challenging! At lease all at once. I agree with leeswammes break it up!
ReplyDeleteMy Weekly Review
Lol! Sounds like you're finding it a bit of a chore. Hope it gets better. Thanks for stopping by my blog :-)
ReplyDeleteI just don't know how you are sticking with War and Peace. In theory I want to read it, but in reality it is never going to happen!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with War and Peace. I must tackle it one day.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell See Buying Info" by Susanna Clark.

I can't believe how blithely I read those long books, back in the day (War and Peace, etc.). Even Gone with the Wind was one I read and reread, and it's not a small book!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST
Looks very challenging indeed ...

ReplyDeletei'm wondering if cs lewis had read war & peace before he said, 'You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.' ??
perseverence required for that one!
I am a huge fan of War and Peace, it is one I reread once a year, but I am partial to Russian literature. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteMy Monday: http://www.rundpinne.com/2011/08/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-51.html
I started reading War and Peace back in January, leeswammes. I've tried setting it down and picking it back up; not so easy with the enormous cast of characters and complicated plot. Now I'm trying to read it without breaks and that isn't working either!
ReplyDeleteI hope I didn't put you off reading it, Sabrina!
ReplyDeleteHelen, I have great persistence. That is all that is keeping me reading War and Peace...persistence.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had read War and Peace back in the days when I read enormous books blithely, Laurel Rain-Snow. Would I have read War and Peace blithely?
ReplyDeleteI have not had the courage to try and read War and Peace. Good luck to you in getting it finished. I hope you are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI am sad to say that I am not enjoying it, Mari.
ReplyDeleteWow! War & Peace...I'm hoping it goes better for you than my own attempts to read it. It's definitely a classic and one I think should be studied, but I'm not sure I'd have the courage to read it "for fun". Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAnd wahoo! I absolutely adored Dash & Lilly, wonderful book!
I just bought it. Have never read anything Russian. I'm sure I won't get to it this year though.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like I will finish it this year either, Carin.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the Indian Kiler... and "teacher-y" books as I lesson plan.
ReplyDeleteProps to you for attempting War & Peace. That think is massive!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting & commenting on my "It's Monday! What are you reading" post :D
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd be able to finish War and Peace. That's pretty intimidating.
ReplyDeleteAw, that's a shame that you aren't enjoying it. I haven't tried it but I loved Anna Karenina.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's how I felt when I bought Les Miserables. I still haven't started it yet. I'm trying to come up with a system for reading it without having dead time when I'm reading other things.
ReplyDeleteI broke Shantaram into sections and read it and loved it. It was almost 1000 pages too.
