A Good Book Cover...

A good book cover hints.

It intrigues.

Carries the theme.

Suggests the plot.

Identifies an emotional tone for the book.

Never trite.

It works with the title in a happy way.

A good book cover is surprising.

A good book cover.

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

  1. Woah, you picked out some awesome covers! I'm a fan of the minamalist style too. And anything just a little bit...different. Like that Zeno's Conscious really caught my eye!

  3. An amazing list. I love more simplistic covers. They often have the best stories inside.

  4. I love the cat one, it looks so intriguing as well!

  5. These are great covers! The cover for Despair is quite eye catching!

  6. Wow, love your covers! They're the kind that make you stop and consider the book behind them.

I think Cora said it best.
And yes, these are all the things a great cover should be. Speechless, honestly. I love it!

  8. A great selection of covers. Though that Nabokov one is just disturbing.
