Makerspaces

So I tried doing Makerspaces in my school library during the last month of school. What a fun time we had! Starting from the upper left hand corner and spiraling clockwise...we had children with drawing books and sketchpads...children assembling a flashlight
(it worked!)...origami and paper airplanes...puppets...building things with plastic cups...putting together the human body...flying paper airplanes...and building things with Legos.

  2. I've never heard of Makerspacers, but it looks great fun. It's lovely to see stuff like this, and look fondly on moments I can remember from my own childhood. I can assure you that you are creating memories for these kids that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

  16. Makerspaces is new to me too. How did that name come about? Looks as if the kids enjoyed themselves!

In a couple weeks, I'll get to have similar fun. I'm teaching a crafty writers club. We'll make all kinds of crafts that use words. :-)
