Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.

Please join the weekly meme at An Accidental Blog. Share with the rest of us your passion for France. Did you read a good book set in France? See a movie? Take a photo in France? Have an adventure? Eat a fabulous meal or even just a pastry? Or if you're in France now, go ahead and lord it over the rest of us. We can take it.

  1. Ooh nice topic choice! That's a fun one! I don't think I've ever really noticed a trend among my covers that I buy. Color scheme sure! Lol.

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. Lovely cover art on these. I visited Paris in the early 1970s and it just doesn't have the same appeal to me as it does to so many others.

  3. You have really found an amusing collection! You missed Mona Lisa, though -- I've collected quite a few books with her on the cover. My favorites are the ones that have NOT A SINGLE MENTION of her in the text, but have appeared to put her on the cover because they think it will sell books. As I understand it, the cover artists often don't have an opportunity to read the book, which obviously is in press when they design it; they have only the title.

  6. I'm the same about Ireland. If the book has an Irish twist to the cover there is no way I won't be picking it up! France is a close second!

  7. I'm sensing a theme! France is such an exotic and romantic setting -- I should read more books set there.

    Happy TTT!

  8. I can see why, these covers exude charm. That Moveable Feast copy is so dreamy, do you own it? Also, Nanette's Baguette is a rhyming storybook with a fun french feel.

  9. Love all those covers! And what's inside are good too, for the ones I've read. Curious about Vreeland's book. I recognize it as a painting of Renoir's.

  10. What a fun post! I love all the covers. Luncheon of the Boating Party was a fun book. Really brought the painting to life in a more personal way! Later when I read Hare with Amber Eyes and realized Charles Ephrussi was the guy in the top hat I was over the moon!

  15. I have the Julia Child book. Love it! I've read (and loved) the Eloisa James novel, as well. Have you read Paris Letters by Janice MacLeod? Wonderful book! Oh, how I hope to go to Paris one day...
