Paris in July: I Forgot to Tell You That I Went to Paris Last Month

We went to Paris last summer.

We planned the trip for a year.
It was a celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary.
It was a wonderful trip.

Impulsively, we decided to go to Paris this summer.
We made reservations at the Days Inn.
We drove.

Where did we go when we arrived in Paris?
Why, the Eiffel Tower, of course.

We saw this sign.

And then...the Eiffel Tower!

But, wait.
What's that red cowboy hat doing on top of the Eiffel Tower?

And that map of Texas under the tower?

Paris, Texas.

Update: Here is a list of all the Eiffel Tower replicas and derivatives around the world.

  2. Very good though I never knew there was a Paris in Texas. BTW that cake was in a cookware shop window so no doubt you would have liked looking around it.

  9. Hah! I've been to Paris, Texas a few times. Although, I would prefer visiting Paris, France. ;) I'm happy you were able to celebrate forty years together! My husband and I will be celebrating our seventh this month.

    1. No, it's only 65 feet high, 1/16th of the original. You see why children try to climb it.

  14. When we went to France last fall, a book character my grandgirls love caught my eye in "Fancy Nancy and the Boy from Paris". I looked at the cover, read the premise, ordered copies on Amazon. So exciting! I thought! We came home and I brought them all their berets and French chocolate and we settled down to read this cute book. I read a few pages, a few pages more. Huh? Now I am confused. What is this cowboy hat on the top of the Eiffel Tower? Yes, I was fooled by Fancy Nancy. We still laugh about this today.
