Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.

These are all fantastic quotes, though I must say that being a Joyce Carol Oates fan I feel hers the most.

I adore these quotes, and they inspire me. Pinned this post to 2 of my boards (books and quotes). Yahoo.
ReplyDeleteThe quote by Borges has long been one of my favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteSo may great quotes about books and reading - thanks Deb.
ReplyDeleteThe last two ARE great -- but all of them are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove these. Terry Pratchett was such a treasure. I AM going to read more of his books this year. I Am, I Am, I Am!
ReplyDeleteWonderful quotes, Deb. Thanks!! Of the ones you shared, I like Norman Rush's best. Here's one of my personal favorites:
ReplyDeleteIn the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you. ~ Mortimer J. Adler
I especially like the Norman Rush!
ReplyDeleteSome great choices here!

"We read because it's fun." So true! These are great quotes, thanks for sharing!

I like them all. They speak truth. But maybe the most cogent and to-the-point is the Twain quote.
ReplyDeleteBooks aren't like broccoli! Couldn't agree more! I also liked Natalie Goldberg's quote - I do like books that tell about life as it is, and not as the author would like it to be. And I've been living Norman Rush's quote most of my life...
ReplyDeleteI did quotes about books and reading as well. I can always relate to them :) I love those French quotes. So true.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
The C.S. Lewis quote is one of my all-time favourites! 'You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.'
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten Tuesday list this week.
These are all wonderful quotes, Deb.
ReplyDeleteI love quotes about books! The one about Paradise being like a library is one of my favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Borges quote never ever gets old!
ReplyDeleteOnly read the two last ones? No way, I read them all and they are all brilliant. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my TTT earlier.
Oh yes, reading is certainly our thing!! Love these quotes you selected today, and totally agree with Jackie French too on the secrets we adults keep about reading ..
ReplyDeleteI love the CS Lewis quote! I've heard it several times but I'm not sure I ever knew who it was that said it. And the L'Engle quote is magic.
ReplyDeleteVery nice choice this week. I'm always jotting down quotes about books and you've included some of my favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteI also loved the last one and included it on the review I did of the book.
ReplyDeleteI've read a lot of these but hadn't read the last two before so thank you so much for sharing these! As a matter of fact, I think I need to use one of these on my quote of the month for my blog! Love these.
