“Vive le 14 juillet!”
"Joyeux quatorze juillet!"
"Bonne fête nationale!"
I want to wish everyone a happy Bastille Day. According to the Official Website of the Paris Convention and Visitors Burea, the most eagerly awaited event on Bastille Day is fireworks at the Eiffel Tower. Starting time for the fireworks is 11 pm and the fireworks will last about thirty minutes. There will also be a large symphonic concert held at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The concert begins at 9:15 pm. It will all be televised live on France 2 and on France Inter. In case you, like me, do not have access to these channels, here is a lovely excerpt from last year's event.
Here are all the links for those who have posted about Paris in July during this second week. We've had some fantastic posts this week, and my hope is to visit every one of these, but, unfortunately, that will be on Monday of next week...We are replacing our floors in our home and our family is arriving on Friday, so I'm trying to tidy up after the installers and move furniture back into rooms as quickly as I can. I hope you will forgive me for the delay.
