It Can't Happen Here; Dinosaurs; and Field Notes from an Unintentional Birder

It was fun looking back on the Sunday Salon last week. Some of you have been posting at TSS longer than I have, and I've been posting for fifteen years!

I hope you will join us here any weekend you like and I hope you will post anything here that is of interest to us as book bloggers. The Sunday Salon was the first group I joined as a book blogger and I was immediately taken with the warmth and welcome of the book blogging community. I hope you will feel that, too.

My dad's wife, Rosa, got a good report from her cardiologist this week, so we are thinking that (maybe!) she is on the mend. Thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers.

What I Read Last Week:

This was a fantastic reading week. It Can't Happen Here? It felt like it could have been written last month. Dinosaurs: A Novel? Who recommended this to me? Several of you did, and I thank you so much. Anyone who is a birder would love reading Field Notes from an Unintentional Birder. And for all of us who love to read Adam Gopnik, I'm sending out an Adam Gopnik New Book Alert...

Dinosaurs: A Novel by Lydia Millet

It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis

What I'm Reading Now:

Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson (Recent Fiction)

Adam Bede by George Eliot (Chapter-a-Day Classic)

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (Classics Club)

Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg (Creativity Challenge)

The Wonderful World of Nils by Selma Lagerlöf (1001 Children's Books You Must Read)

Last week I posted here at Readerbuzz:

I'm happy you joined us here at the Sunday Salon. Sunday Salon is a place to link up and to share what we have been doing during the week. It's a great way to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

Some of the things we often talk about at the Sunday Salon:

  • What was your week like?
  • Read any good books? Tell us about them.
  • What other bookish things did you do?
  • What else is going on in your life?

Other places where you may like to link up over the weekend are below. Click on the picture to visit the site.
