Grand Prize Reader

I was having a bad day and then I stopped by the library.

"Hey, Debbie," Dana Kay, the branch manager, called to me as I came in. "You are the grand prize winner."

"Oh my!" I told the library clerk. "I won the summer adult reading club contest. I wonder what the grand prize is. Maybe a $5,000 gift card to Barnes and Noble?"

"Yeah, right," the library clerk, Cynthia, said as she checked in books.

Dana Kay walked to the library office and brought out my prize.

"Gracious," I said. "It's better than a $5,000 gift card to Barnes and Noble."

"Do you know what it is?" Dana Kay asked me.

"Yes," I told her. "It's a book pillow."

"Yes," said Dana Kay. "It's a book pillow, and I made it."

Isn't it lovely?

  10. Love it. I once won a book about making coffee drinks in a library raffle. You got a ticket for every 10 books checked out in month, as I recall, so I may have had a slight advantage!

    1. Yes, the pillow probably has to stay at my house. Little buggies seem to always be a problem these days.
