Do you remember that I brought home eighty-eight pounds of books from BookExpo this year? I still have a few of those wonderful ARCs that I haven't read yet. I'm set for books coming out this summer and fall, I think. But what about older titles? And book-ish things?
It better be a huge gift card 'cause I'm buying big. Here are the books and book-ish things I'd throw into the Amazon cart today:
The Most Beautiful Libraries in the World...Hardcover...$41.35
Bookopoly Board Game...$64.23
Solid Oak Library Card File Media Cabinet...$208.69
In the Presence of Books...$33.62
Book Candles: The Library, including Antique Books, New Books, and Ancient Scrolls...$24.00
The Maximum Security Book Club: Reading Literature in a Men's Prison...$18.38
National Geographic Rarely Seen: Photographs of the Extraordinary...$27.19
Shrunken Treasures: Literary Classics, Short, Sweet, and Silly...$12.00
The Battle for Room 314: My Year of Hope and Despair in a New York City High School...$17.33
The Complete Review Guide to Contemporary World Fiction...$90.00
And the grand total?
A mere $536.79!
Would someone send me a gift card for $536.79? Please???

OOoh nice items!! Love the bookish items add on! Didn't think to do that!! Lol!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I'm crazy about books, of course, but I'm also mad for book-ish things, too.
DeleteBookopoly?! I never knew there was such a thing. How cool!
ReplyDeleteI covet it.
DeleteThat card file cabinet is glorious! And I love that you took the time to add everything up :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: http://haphazardbookshelves.blogspot.com/2016/08/ten-books-i-would-buy-right-now-top-ten.html
It's good to have a grand total so I can start saving.
DeleteWell I didn't know Bookopoly existed but I feel that I need it now! And those card file cabinets! I have plans to turn one of my girl's bedrooms into a reading room now that she has her own place and those seem like the perfect addition.
ReplyDeleteOne day someone will buy me Bookopoly.
DeleteOh wow - I love the look of the book about libraries. One of the most beautiful I've been in recently was in Melbourne, Australia - all gracious halls and columns and gorgeous old-style reading desks radiating out from a central tower where the librarian can keep order.
ReplyDelete...and now I need to go looking for book candles. What a wonderful idea!
That sounds like a library I need to visit.
DeleteI have you beat for the amount spent but you have me beat for unique interesting books and items. Fun.
ReplyDeleteYour list took my breath away. You can spend it, Anne.
DeleteI love the candles! I want the candles! lol. Great selection. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I need the candles.
DeleteLove the bookish ideas, especially that file cabinet. My TTT link
ReplyDeleteYes, the cabinet.
DeleteI love the bookish ideas on your list this week. :-)
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my TTT post for the week: http://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2016/08/top-ten-tuesday-ten-books-id-buy-right.html
I can always use more.
DeleteI might actually try Bookopoly! :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my TTT and my leg of the Launch Day Blitz + Giveaway of United by Melissa Landers.
We should have a Bookopoly tournament when we get good at it. The first ever.
DeleteI think if you ask Michael Orthofer, he would gladly send you a review copy, at least digital, as it was for many weeks available on netgalley. I ended up buying a copy after reading the ebook, the list price is actually only $27, and you can purchase a very good copy for $16. It is worth it (review pending)
ReplyDeleteMaybe I can find a way to contact him.
DeleteI see some here I'd like. Bookopoly- didn't know about that one but I'd love to play it! How fun. And The Beautiful Libraries book- what a nice coffee table book that would be. And any candle called Ancient Scrolls I would definitely try! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Libraries is a book I've checked out from the library over and over. Maybe one day they will cull that book from the shelves.
DeleteI'd love to have that card file cabinet for my husband's CDs which are in stacks all over the living room, his studio, and the car.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bookopoly - YES, must have!
Wish I had that card file.
DeleteWhat a great list, Deb! I've always wanted a Solid Oak Library Card File Media Cabinet, although it wouldn't hold all my DVD/Blue-Rays unfortunately. I suppose if money was no object, I could buy as many as I wanted. Haha
ReplyDeleteThe Bookopoly game looks like a lot of fun. :-)
Oh yes.
DeleteDeborah Dewitt Marchant is a local artist. I only knew her through her lovely cats-and-books themed cards I used to buy at Annie Bloom's Books in Portland.
ReplyDeleteI'm wishing I'd thought bigger with my TTT list!
Isn't that cool?
DeleteA board game about books!? Yes please! I'd totally love that. Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Deb.
