I have read everything by some of my favorite authors. Everything. Here I sit and wait while you work (slowly, oh-so-slowly) on something new, Haruki Murakami and Maira Kalman.
I have read everything by some of my favorites and now they have passed away. Ah, Edward Eager.
But, happily, some of my favorite authors have written books I haven't read. Here are some of them.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.
Those are all totally new to me authors! I hope you get around to reading some of their books soon!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thanks for stopping by. Take a look at John Steinbeck one of these days.
DeleteI haven't read any of those authors, not even Steinbeck. :/
ReplyDeleteAh, we have Steinbeck in common! here is my list: https://wordsandpeace.com/2018/09/25/top-ten-books-by-my-favorite-authors-that-i-still-havent-read/
ReplyDeleteI loved Stone Diaries by Carol Shields then never read anything else by her. Thank you for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI will disclose that none of these are favorite authors of mine. However, I have read one book that you haven't - Steinbeck's THE PEARL. I read it in high school. Ha!
ReplyDeleteAs per usual, you win for cleverness in presentation. Now I want to go back and do the same thing. Only problem I went off the board this week and listed my favorite banned books since it is banned books week. But I will save the idea you used with goodread for something else in the future. My TTT Favorite Banned Books
ReplyDeleteOooh, The Big Rock Candy Mountain is wonderful! I understand it's the most autobiographic of Stegner's novels.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Larry's Party by Carol Shields. I can't even remember which of her books I've already read, it's been that long! How did you like The Overstory? It's obviously on my radar because of the Booker, but I'm really unsure about a book about trees, let alone one so huge. I've heard it's really good, but also that it's a slow read. I'm honestly a little scared of it. I'm also scared of John Steinbeck. I hear nothing but praise for him, but when I tried to read The Grapes of Wrath... I just couldn't. I have East of Eden, but again, it's just so huge! Which of his books would you recommend starting with, particularly if you're someone who struggles with slow starts? Great post!
ReplyDeleteI have only read East of Eden and the Grapes of Wrath. I'm missing out on a lot of goodness!
ReplyDeleteThe only Steinbeck book I've read was The Grapes of Wrath, although I liked it. The other authors are new to me.
ReplyDeleteOh what wonderful authors! The only one I've read a significant amount from and Steinbeck. I love most of his work with the exception of The Pearl which I hated with every fiber of my being in 9th grade. It almost put me off of reading Steinbeck from there on out!
ReplyDeleteI adore John Steinbeck! Of Mice and Men has always been my favorite, but I can't wait to read East of Eden and The Grapes of Wrath! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I have only read Of Mice and Men on this list. I'll have to take a look at some of these authors.
ReplyDeleteOf Mice and Men-of course a fav for me. I need to read more classics. Thanks for sharing with me.
