The Book of Hard Words

The Book of Hard Words: Read It, See It, Know It, Use It by David Bramwell

Let's start out the year with The Book of Hard Words, shall we? You and I both know that the beginning of a year is the time to start doing hard things, that by February we won't even be putting the yoga clothes on much less driving to the Y.

So let's give this one a try. Hard words, eh? And the idea behind the book is to learn the word by using it and applying it to a known situation.

So an autodidact would be my Grandpap. His mother made him quit school when he was in eighth grade, after skipping two grades, to go to work. Still, Grandpap never stopped reading or learning.

When we saw this alligator near the shore, we immediately decided that the path we were taking was impassable or invious.

Rae of Powerful Women Readers is an ailurophile. I am, too. Perhaps you, also, are an ailurophile?

That's me, many, many hair colors ago. It should be clear to you from this picture that I know exactly what bibliomania is, but I want to assure you that I have, since this photo was taken, cleared off eight bookshelves of books. I no longer suffer from bibliomania.

Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where you can share new words that you’ve encountered, or spotlight words you love.  Feel free to get creative! It was first created by Kathy over at Bermuda Onion and is now hosted at Elza Reads.
